If they pull the trigger on that deal, it has to be as much to do with clearing the cap space as it does with getting rid of Ennis and bringing in Nichushkin.

It varies, you know I'm not a fan and wanted him moved last year before he even got hurt.

Too much east west in his game. People were comparing him to Briere at one point...

The difference is I don't go out of my way to bash him...

That being said it looks like he is in the top 6 this year...lets see what he can do

I hear and read this phrase a lot as a negative toward players, especially from more old time hockey guys, and I wonder if it has played a part in the diminishing of skill in the game in favor of players that use a simple, straight forward type of game.

I hear and read this phrase a lot as a negative toward players, especially from more old time hockey guys, and I wonder if it has played a part in the diminishing of skill in the game in favor of players that use a simple, straight forward type of game.

Yes, I believe it was Ennis, a 2nd, and a prospect, but to me that sounds ridiculous. I know many people don't love Ennis, but he's a proven 20 goal scorer in this league, Nichuskin has proven nothing and had played the past few with better teammates. Nichuskin for Ennis straight up right now, I'm okay with because of Ennis's questionable injury recovery, but if Ennis starts putting up numbers this season, than Dallas can keep their Grigorenko.

It would be after this season so hopefully 150+ games played. Hes been a captain at basically every level hes played at and been successful at it. If hes well respected in the locker room I dont see why not. Not like he'd be the youngest ever or anything like that. I agree it's likely to be O'Reilly just personally not at the top of my list.

i wouldn't want to do that.. too much for someone who might not be any better than what we are giving up

If he hits say 25 goals in 75 games do you keep him or do you take advantage of his risen value and trade him while you can?

I don't mind bringing in Nichuskin...
But that rumored deal SUCKS for us

We'd be overpaying for a guy coming off a down season
And selling low on Ennis

Ennis is a multi 20goal scorer
So if we make that deal...
Nichuskin better turn out to be a 30 goal scorer

Otherwise,
We paid WAY too much
