It's those people who have the issues if they think one person represents anyone other than themselves... I have nothing but pity on those simple minded people. - stashu
True... though having the fine power of ban-hammer must make reading that kind of poop a little bit more satisfying... |

Meh, it's not something I wanted to do with hunting down idiots as a goal, and I rarely do anything like that in non-Sabres blogs if it's a team that has their own mod(s).
If our "job" was to ban for stupidity, traffic on this site would be quite limited. |

Good Morning folks!
I started to back-read a bit and then decided it didn't seem like a good idea. |

So I post a nice article about Lehner and not one comment. Typical. - mhp
Thanks for re-posting.
Good read. I'm really interested to see what he can do on a healthy ankle. |

nice read, he said the right things
let's hope it translates to a healthy season and top 10 numbers
I read articles on vanek, staff, roy, connolly that got me pumped in the past so I am not reading much into it other than it sounds like he is rededicating his life around hockey

I think the weight loss and life changes are a real positive for Lehner and like you, I'm looking forward to watching him for a full season. If he's down to 215 or so, that will be a big plus for his lateral movement. Less weight and a healthy ankle will do wonders for him and the team. |

We'll need him healthy for a successful season. If he lost 40 lbs and as big as he is to begin with, it could be a real positive for the team. |

I think he's a prime example of how badly guys can be impacted by concussions. It pretty much took him a year and half to get back to the guy he was before the concussion. Let's hope that he is now able to put all of it in the past and move forward. |

Some of the real big goalies in the league like Lehner don't weigh 240 or more and that's a good thing.
Bishop 6'7 216
Dubnyk 6'6 210
Lack 6'4 187
Lehtonen 6'4 205
Luongo 6'3 217 |

No doubt that concussion set him back and then getting the ankle injury on top of that. I think he could put up decent numbers when he's healthy. |

If he's lost 40 lbs, then he should be somewhere around 200. Which I'm sure will make a big difference. Like he says in the article, if he could play well at 240, it should be fun to see what he can do now that he's that much lighter. |

I thought he put up pretty decent numbers last year, especially when you take into account that the ankle was never right last year. He really only had 3 or 4 games where I thought he played poorly. He really kept us in all the others he played. |

I heard speculation he might have been past 240, pushing 250 or more. If he is between 200 and 210 or so that would be ideal considering the other big goalies in the league. |

I posted last week that if Lehner is healthy he can put up a .920 and a 2.30 this year. Some posters disagreed but now that he's lost the weight I definitely think those numbers are attainable and the D is a bit better as well. |

I love hearing about guys staying in the area during the offseason. I think that says something about how committed they are to the team and area. Especially when they're not from the US to begin with. Especially when they're raising kids. Speaking of which, I still love this picture from last year.

His sv% was a .924 last year, which is definitely more indicative of his play than GAA is. So the fact that that number is already really solid gives me even more hope that he can put up good numbers now completely healthy.
A friend of mine hates our D. Says it's not even AHL caliber. I guess we'll have to wait and see how it goes. |

I love seeing the "human" side of the players. I feel like it's something you see more in hockey than in football, which could partly be why I like hockey better. |

I'm still concerned about the back up position. I say we make a play for Reto Berra in Florida. He's the 3rd goalie there behind Luongo and Reimer. He had decent stats in Colorado last year and has 'Murray' size, 6'4 210. |

I'm with you on this. And usually when I get to that point I question whether or not I really need that many open.
Sometimes at work it's more than that, but it's because they're different web-based applications that we use. |
