I do share your excitement for hockey restarting for sure.
Meh for football this year for me, and I used to be way I to it...the Bills commitment to mediocrity is the biggest reason as they have plain wore me out.

It was pretty solid. I really liked his game last year, full stop. Every goalie will have bad games where they get shelled, I'm not concerned about the 2 he was. And if we're talking relatively he was fantastic; given he went 7 months without being able to workout last year over the spring/summer, and came in way out of shape, then getting hurt 30 minutes into the season, missing 10 weeks or whatever it was and playing hurt for 21 games posting elite SV% numbers before ultimately being shut down and having surgery to correct the problem. Even if he just plays as well as he did last year, but actually plays 60 games this is a playoff team.

I like reading Bill Hoppe's stuff and read it regularly. If Lehner can stay healthy and with the weight loss i think he could be a difference maker for us. I'm certainly hoping so.

I also posted about acquiring Reto Berra from Florida. I don't like the Nilsson acquisition at all. Luongo and Reimer are the goalies in Fla so I would make a trade to get Berra. He can back up Lehner and has 'Murray Size' at 6'4 210.

Berra's ok. But I think Murray thinks something else. He tried to sign Zatkoff, so it's not like he tried to get a world-beater in here to backup Robin. I think he always intended to give Ullmark time this year up here as the de facto backup, and I've been saying it since Nilsson was acquired that I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he was.

I wouldn't mind Ullmark in Roch for the full year. It would probably be best for his development. I think Berra is better than Nilsson and Berra will be a UFA after the season like Nilsson. I guess we'll see how Ullmark and Nilsson do in camp.

edit- Berra had a 2.41 and a .922 with 2 shutouts on a poor Colorado team last year in 14 games. That would be nice numbers for a back up here.
