What's the reference? Or is it just out of nowhere? The only thing I found was tortious acts. And holy hell, $11,000 worth of books? Don't they have that poop on-line? lol It would be a hell of a lot easier to search. That's a LOT of volumes. It's some (frank)ing paper, it's not worth $300 a pop with some being over $1,000. - Wetbandit1
I was specifically researching 302(a)(1)....personal jurisdiction over an out of state defendant who conducts business within NYS |

Only so much you can do with them. We don't have a cool coat of arms like the European countries. - Wetbandit1
Would have preferred they stick with the actual USA Hockey logo. Canada should stick with Hockey Canada's too. |

Yeah, that's my fear about them winning the NHL jersey contract. That combined with ads being inevitable really makes me dread what seems to be a soccer type of trend in jerseys. |

I don't mind the ads on these jerseys. You can barely tell they're there, out of sight on the top of the shoulder.
Edit: But, on an NHL jersey with shoulder logos it would probably be different. |

It's the long arm statute.
The business either has to be so pervasive as to say the defendant is actually here for all intents and purposes, or the underlying claim has to relate to the business the defendant transacted in this jurisdiction.
It's just generally a test to say that the defendant has sufficient contact with this forum that it is fair - using many of the same "traditional notions of fairness and equity" that you learned in International Shoe and Feathers v McLucas - to adjudicate a claim against the defendant in this locale (despite the fact the defendant's domiciliary is in a sister state).
(Or maybe I just slept in a holiday Inn.) |

Barry Melrose just said Ristolainen is going to be Victor Hedman. This saddens me.
Not because I wouldn't like him to be that good, but because Barry Melrose is often wrong. |

The federal district courts (with no thanks to the Court of Appeals) have created this crazy test to figure out if someone meets the standards. I am thinking about writing my note for Law review about the test and how the different factors have developed within the past few years in the 4 districts courts in New York.

Ristolainen is having a hell of a third period. He should get 2 assists for that play. |

Can we move past the "Risto isn't a #1 D-man" argument yet?...I mean good god the guy is a (frank)in rock for Finland
EDIT: And i'm sorry....but even though he is a very good player....Maatta is NOT a better D-man than Risto |

The question was never "Is Ristolainen a #1?"
It has always been "can you win a Championship with Ristolainen as your #1?" |
