You know I love you, Weirdsie.
We go way back. We have been cyberfriends for many years.
But if you are subtly mocking the beautiful duet Islands in the Stream with Ms. Parton and Mr. Rogers, I will jam my weiner in your pooper so hard your heart is shoved out your mouth, and then I will rip your heart out with my mouth and show it to you before you die.
P.S. Don't ever (EVER!) mock Total Eclipse of the Heart, or I will hunt you down and skin you. - Atomic Wedgie

Good. Russia needs something on D for their future. The likes of Emelin Markov isn' cutting it any more. Geeze, can you imagine team Canada, or even the US, having room on their team for those guys?
Provorov Sergachev is a good start for them. |

it's actually been pretty quiet until this past weekend, most had never seen him play. Nothing like the MMN 4th line you guys keep talking about |

There are worst players out there than Erik Johnson....
You really should try just evaluating players of every team without bias, it's fun.
I know you can do it. |

Laine was OK out there but still has a long way to go, no doubt he will be good in the NHL but defensively looked lost.

He had a few good chances but wasn't too visible. Personally I chock that up too the quality of the Finnish team. |

This.
The fact that they're relying ALOT on a 18 year old kid to lead them offensively is a problem.
Matthews for example is looking alot better but the quality of his teamates is overall alot better as well. |

Laine also looked slow. There was a play when N/A turned the puck over just inside the blue line, and Laine took the puck the other way along the boards in the neutral zone, Matthews caught him no problem and stripped him of the puck. If I recall both were near the end of their shift, but Matthews had the extra speed and drive to catch him to regain possession. It was one of my favourite plays of the game. |

Laine is not considered a very fast player, takes a few strides for him to get going but he compensates by being very good at protecting the puck with his huge frame and having the ability to make a killer shot in a split second.
Good for Matthews on that play I guess. |

Understandable, however with the likes of Barkov, Filppula, Koivu, Aho, Teravainan and Kamorov. Its not exactly bottom of the barrel. Just thought he would be a bit more dominant and felt his biggest weakness is when he doesn't have the puck.
But most people just drool over his shot, and I mean it is amazing. |

Not going to dig. Did Bibeau get the penalty for smacking down that Bitten guy? Or was it goaltender interference?
Edit: and the Marlies announcer is still annoying as hell. His voice sounds like it should be a voicing a cartoon pig. |

As much as I try to stay away from homer perspectives, everything I have seen, in this limited sample size, suggests that Matthews is a significantly better overall player.
You might point out the better team mates, but Matthews has also been among the best players on that team. |

I agree that Matthews is the better player. Laine might be a better goal scorer but as i've stated a couple days back, Matthews has no flaws in his game and is just overall better.
I'm only saying that the difference between the two looked bigger than it really is last game because it was a difficult time for Finland overall. Team NA is very, very good. |

1 is a complete 2 way player, the other is just a scoring winger. |

Laine is going to have some good teammates in Winnpeg.
How many goals does he get this year... 35? 40? I'm going with 37g |
