In mid-July, Spain posted its highest temperature ever recorded when Córdoba airport (in southern Spain) hit 116.4 degrees (46.9 Celsius).
In late June, Ahvaz, Iran, soared to 128.7 degrees Fahrenheit (53.7 Celsius) – that country’s all-time hottest temperature.

On the 14th of August, Arctic Mission, led by British explorer Pen Hadow, set sail on a six-week expedition by yacht, to explore, discover and share the previously unseen wildlife and ecosystem of the ocean around the North Pole, to demonstrate just how dramatically Arctic ice has melted,

At least that was the original goal of the Mission, but the Mission had to aborted after only 15 days and 678.5 statute miles short of their North Pole destination.


I wonder why they had to abort, and make plans to return home?


I'm hearing it was that they were blocked by too much sea ice and has had no choice but to turn back.
