If it was just Philly against Buffalo, sure, Buffalo would almost certainly lose, but Buffalo against Nashville, and Winnipeg? It's Buffalo. And why should Detroit get a team? Tradition? Then every team established after the Sabres doesn't deserve to be there, so goodbye Tampa, San Jose, Washington, Minnesota, Colorado, and Nashville and Winnipeg again.
There are many reasons why Buffalo would be in a 16 team league. And a lot why they wouldn't, but to automatically write them off is silly. - Wetbandit1
The only reason you've said that Buffalo should be in is tv viewership
And that doesn't even hold up in comparison to bigger markets
I'm not automatically writing them off
I listed about 10 reasons
Absolutely no chance the Sabres would still exist in a 10 team league

I honestly do. The thing is, there's absolutely nothing he could say or do at this point that would do his reputation any good.
His perception league wide is tainted and most people are not inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt for a variety of reasons. If he gets moved by a team trending upwards that overpaid for him for 20 cents on the dollar his career will effectively be over. Thats 2 teams giving up on you at the age of 25. I mean he'll still get work in the nhl but he will never be paid full value for his contributions should they go up because he'll need to pay a "headache" tax out of his own pocket.
It was one thing when the city of winnipeg was sick of him, now 2 teams? Best he can do now is make sure he stays put and impress the guy who overpaid for him in the first place because at this point hes probably the only guy who will pay him market value or higher. |

Murray didn't sound too pleased over the summer either. I highly doubt he's going to give him the benefit of the doubt and pay him "market value" either at this point. It's too risky.

If he has a bounce back year on the ice he absolutely will. We can question his success rate with trades, signings, draft picks till we're blue in the face. The one thing that is clear is his ego. I have 0 doubt in my mind that if he puts up the numbers TM will pay him handsomely. |

I think 365 is on to something though. Perhaps "market value" isn't the best choice of words, but certainly could be the case that GMTM is the only one that is open to signing him for multiple years for example, simply due to the price we paid to acquire him. (That would be given a strong season without anymore new articles). |

I might go Friday. But if I do, I'll be in a suite, so the TO fans won't really be an issue. |

Not sure he will. Depends on how good he is. If he has two 30+ goal seasons and is a nightmare to play against, and stays out of the news, absolutely, and I'd be fine with it.
If he has another injury/incident riddled season, but has some great games mixed in, probably not.
My money would be on the latter happening, but I wouldn't rule out anything |

Ill rephrase. If he scores say 25 in back to back seasons and stays relatively healthy, TM would probably be the only GM who would pay him what a UFA putting up those numbers actually deserves or would normally get on the open market. Everyone else will probably pay him markedly less because at that point 2 teams would have moved on from him including the one that overpaid to get him not too long ago. |

I think this year determines evetyrhibg. If he has a great year, he stays. If he doesn't they move on either by exposing him or trading him

I really hope he works out
A couple guys like him & Bailey with size & speed can really be a great compliment to guys like Reinhart & Nylander
Put together our lines for next season with Bailey & Nylander in there and I really like the potential I see |

I agree. I actually think they want to move him but cant and at the same time Murray probably wants him to bounce back. Unfortunately he doesn't have the luxury of time so im curious to see how it works out. |

They still might. I think not landing Stamkos or Vesey effected this.

That was probably one of the most tone deaf interviews since Mitt Romney, or any politician really, yeah I went there.
But in all seriousness, he could not have come off much worse if he tried. I understand what he was trying to say, I don't necessarily agree with it, I'm just saying I understand what he was going for, but he picked the worst possible way to say it and still try to sound sincere. |
