Ghost is getting better each game. Coots looks great too, though his usage is not as offensive as we'd like to see when he's a Flyer. But the quality of hockey is high and it's intense. So long as they stay healthy, this is probably a great way to get ready for the season. Lord knows this team needs a good start for once.
It's G who I want back. But that's not happening. He won't be playing or anything. Him being there does zilch. - Mononoke

Canada have three games left if they win their semi final, maybe four. I don't think we've seen the last of Giroux given the injury rate in this tournament. |

Konecny is already at 185 lbs, at 5'9"-5'10"....players don't just keep gaining muscle and weight infinitely unless they're Morin, who is up to 700 lbs I think now. That's probably Konecny's optimal playing weight and he looks jacked. If he doesn't make the Flyers, it won't be because he's not physically ready IMHO! Based on weight alone, Johnny Gaudreau should be ready for the NHL by the time he is age 48. |

The speed and pace of play is so boring with the North America. I'd much rather watch Canada win 1-0. |

Are you trying to say you think he will make it out of camp since the Weight isn't an issue or that he needs to work on other areas in his game to hang with the big boys? |

Excellent point, Babs.
Though personally I'd rather watch USA lose 4-2 because the schadenfreude tastes delicious. |

regarding the Lombardi quotes, not sure what you guys were expecting
"yeh, I really screwed the pooch here, the players I picked are all lousy grinders, not to mention the coach was the wrong guy for this tournament"
he's not going to throw these guys under the bus. he could own up his own mistakes but I can't see him doing anything but praising backes, abeldekator, and the rest |

I'm saying that he's a nasty little son of a female dog who has no problem with physicality and he's probably at his optimal weight already. Anything more than 185-190 is too much on his frame. I'm saying that he probably could work on other areas of his game, there's a ton of players already in the pros competing for few spots, and Hextall has shown a high degree of patience.
What I'm really saying is that I think he could be on the team no problem. Robby Fabbri is a similar player to Konecny and look what he did as a complimentary player on the Blues last year at the same age. I think if Konecny continually looks like he's on another level, that he could. But I understand if he's not. But it's not because he needs to balloon up to 230 lbs first. |

he could have owned his mistakes and left out the "I wouldn't change a thing" part. That doesn't inherently mean he'd need to throw people under the bus.

It comes off like they're not willing to take responsibility. Just say "In hindsight, we probably would have done some things differently."
You sound like an idiot when you get blown out and outplayed, but say "We wouldn't change a thing!" |
