So I was just talking on FB with friend about the potential of the 2018 US Olympic team.
So, as of today, here is my group.
Goalies: Bishop, Gibson, Schneider
Forwards: Eichel, Matthews, Gaudreau, Kane, Kessel, Parise, Pavelski, Okposo, Oshie, Johnson, Wheeler, JvR/Pacioretty/Galchenyuk
Defense: Suter, Shattenkirk, Faulk, Ghost, Jones, Carlson, McDonagh/Fowler/Trouba
Potential dark horses:
Trochek, Vesey, Saad, Bjugstad - jak521
There is no way Kesler gets left off...so much grit
That is a joke, but I actually thought he was one of the best players on the team

So I read this expecting to laugh. I am all about a good satire article. Man that was super weak with a Pelle joke on top. - YuenglingJagr
In a way, this is your annual reminder that Andrew MacDonald is making $5MM a year until 2020. Between him and Gudas, that's $8.5MM in immovable cap space on immobile defensemen.
"just toss Gudas in there, anybody who throws checks probably can't skate." |

The funniest part about Ghoul is we might have 15 players now and in the future who project as better bottom 6/4th line players than him. - Mononoke

The writer's skills are weak.
That Mason goal was worse, though.
The video of the fans reinforced my belief that fans suck. |

I'll take a player picked in the 3rd round who winds up being a 4th line NHL player, over a player picked with more skill or a higher ceiling, that never makes the NHL. - MJL
So you're saying you'd rather have a 4th liner than a player who never plays in the NHL? This is the hottest of hot takes |

Gibson over Murray?
frank that pouty baby Kessel - Scoob
Absolutely 100%
Not only is Gibson the better goalie (IMO), he has much more experience and is much more proven.
Do realize, Gibson has 68 NHL starts over 3 years (really took over this season) and a career save % of .920. His GAA is also 2.22.
Murray has 34 games of NHL experience just from this year, playing with a Stanley Cup winning team that had one of the better d's Ive seen in a long time. I wanna see him tried and tested.

what about a player with more skill or a higher ceiling that does make the nhl - Crimsoninja
I'd rather have a backup goalie than another goalie who never makes it to the NHL |

It's hard to give up a weaker goal than that. It really is.
That said, using one goal and/or one playoff series to define a goalie is laughable.
