Wentz is a good QB, I wonder if the Bills will get q real QB one day.

Not a Tyrod fan?
I think he's pretty decent

Need another good WR for him to throw to

I'm beginning to think now more than ever that coaching is very important to how successful a QB is.

They also have a great coaching staff which the Bills don't have. Doug Pederson is an offensive guy, and Frank Reich was a great hire for OC.

You need offensive minded people like that to develop a QB. Not Rex.

- rmiethaner

Reich for head coach next year for us?

119 yards passing yet again, he's horrible. We need a real QB anyQB can run it for a TD, McCoy moved the offense not Tyrod.

Situation matters quite a bit too
Look at Wilson
Went to a team w a great running game & defense
Didn't get asked to do too much too soon
Stability in that organization has helped too

Didn't Alex Smith have something like 7 different OCs in 7 years?
That'll kill a young QB

There's plenty of QBs who throw for 300 years & are mediocre
I think Tyrod had something like 24TDs & 6int last year
That's pretty good

Guys like Wilson & Roethlisberger hardly ever threw for 300yds their first couple years starting

We havn't had a good QB since the idiot (frank)ing front office/ownership chased Pennington out
- feetontheair22

How that guy had any success in the NFL is beyond me.

Every throw was a wounded duck.

Without question.

The NFL is obviously a QB league and it should now become a league with OC's becoming the head coaches.

And Fitz, I am trying not to be biased, but Reich is showing to be very capable of being a very good coach.

Edit: There will always be exceptions like Brady.

Jeff Fisher is not someone you want to develop a project QB.

Did u expect him to win a Super Bowl his 1st year starting?

With your logic,
The only good QBs in the league are Brady, Wilson & Roethlisberger

From the wonderful Steve Simmons of postmedia:

I asked a number of hockey people to tell me who Auston Matthews reminded them of this week: The answers ranged from Peter Forsberg to Darryl Sittler to Bryan Trottier. The comparisons, interestingly enough, were all to Hall of Fame players. Whatever I expected from Matthews at the World Cup, he delivered more ...The World Cup sourpuss award goes to Buffalo’s Jack Eichel, who didn’t much care for being relegated to also-ran status on Team North America and didn’t seem to be one of those check-your-ego-at-the-door kind of kids ... Drew Doughty makes $8 million a year ,but I’m willing to pitch in a few bucks to buy him a new tooth ... I knew Johnny Gaudreau was great. I didn’t know he was this great ... What Connor McDavid will discover over time: Full speed is wonderful, especially when you have his speed. But slowing down occasionally can be effective too. He’s dangerous now. When he learns to stop and go, and shoot just a touch better, as he grows stronger, he’s going to be unstoppable.

- Da_Cashman

"Oh, hey coach, I love being on the 4th line!"Is that really what Simmons was expecting? GTFO.

It always baffled me how people seemed to dismiss Mike McCarthy's role in Aaron Rodgers's success.

Looked to me like he was on his way down & Highes still went after him...
Then specifically grabbed his helmet & yanked
Maybe if it was another player I'd give them the benefit of the doubt,
But Hughes is always doing stupid sh!t like this

- jdfitz77

It looked like he went to grab him by the shoulder pads/wrap him up and as he was falling backwards got his helmet, some of these player's helmets come off with a stiff breeze.

Either way, Hughes was dominant today. And although after the first Jets drive he didn't quite get there, he still played a good game. Fitz just pulled a Chad Pennington and got the ball out after like a second a half. I don't care how good you are, when the QB gets rid of the ball that quickly you don't have a chance. Fitz did it with us too and he rarely got sacked and covered up a lot of bad play from the O-line.

Remember when the Bills almost hired him? It was down to 2, him and the schmuck we hired. I can't even remember who it was, Mularkey? but I do remember McCarthy's name was big here before we hired the other guy.

Love your Blogs though IMHO Sabres only begin to show their stuff once Reinhart moves to Center. When we have 3 x high octane lines we will be a serious Cup threat.
- MTLSabres

thx for reeding...reinhart as a top-six right-winger or third line center?...that's where we're at right now....

have no problem with him on the wing in the top six and feel they can fill out the third line with quality in the near future

He definitely makes some bonehead plays, but I see growth there, last week he almost went off on an official, and he backed off without saying anything, at least not enough to get him a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct anyway. I gave too much credit to Mario Williams for Hughes season 2 years ago, but I really like what Hughes brings, and if he can get a handle on his emotions, which it looks like he's doing, he can be Aaron Schobel like, possibly the most underrated Bills player in a generation.

If we have Reinhart centering our 3rd line at some point, I feel like that line will be able to score
I've like that type of setup ever since we were killing teams with the Vanek-Roy-Afinagenov 3rd line
