Which very well could be true. Its still premature to say trade Maata to give that spot to DP. DP most likely will get playing time when a Dman goes down this year.

Trouba would be a nice addition though.

Yes, it's a pipe dream, but truly not needed, and could hamper this team down the road.

DP has done nothing to prove himself worthy of regular NHL time let alone top 4 minutes at this point. As of now he is the defensive version of BB, lots of promise and nothing to show for it. Dumping Maata so DP can take is spot is dumb. But like BB, RW has a soft spot for DP.

Id explore DP+ whatever else might interest PEG for Trouba though.

No he thinks pouliot is a legit offer. I mean some of the pedigree is the same, but your talking about a guy who has already handle 20+ minutes a night versus a guy who has a nice HERO chart. Proven guy versus prospects.

Do I think Pouliot is a legitimate offer? No. But as I said throw him out there & see what comes back. Winnipeg are stacked with prospects, they don't need F or goalies they need a LHD that's ready to play. Is Pouliot that???

Neither organisation has to make a trade, it's a case on whether or not they do, & if Winnipeg would take a run on Pouliot & whatever else it would cost.

I think we all hope DP shows his value this year as opposed to what he has shown in previous years. A few are very skeptical of DP though. We need to see it on the ice during meaningful games, not in preseason practices.

Or change Murray to Flower. Jets wouldn't even bother due to their goalie prospects coming through, but it would be workable. Even drop Fehr & get Pavalic back in place of the 1st (no idea what Pav is getting paid??).

I'm using what an organisation wants compared to what it is willing to pay. That's my point - has nothing to do with Larsson. Oil paid high for a Dman they needed badly.

It's simple to see Pouliot won't get you Trouba, but Pouliot (fulfilling potential), is what Winnipeg want/need. How much would Winnipeg make us add? You & I have no idea, but Shero told Costanza that he was taking on more salary in Hall so that was enough! It worked, Hall is now a devil against everyone's better judgement because the Oil had to make a change & needed a Dman badly. Funny how things work out.
