He did, however, mention him as someone who isn't going anywhere.
And he needs to have his minutes reduced - theyre too high for any good team to be relying so much on one Dman. |

i'm still trying to figure out why we need another top-four d-man, especially on the right side - Michael Pachla
Whether you have two on one pair or one on each pair, I'd like two impact D men on this team. Two capable of carrying a pair and driving scoring or possession.
We have 1
Trouba MAY be another. |

Trouba is this week's shiny bauble. |

So just over 6mil per for Marchand...
Hopefully he has another good year this season
Then we can potentially extend Eichel & Reinhart for a decent # after this season, before their ELC expires & we have another "Risto" situation |

How bout Cooks and Tamme in a PPR, down by 32?
Also, I didn't see the scores, does anyone know if the Jets won yesterday? How'd Fitz play? |

you had to challenge Ek for the season ticket
donate $20 to charity if you lost, won a season ticket if you beat him
you did not state you challenged ek, so no tickey for you |

if you get 2 td's from cooks and tamme I think your in
I give you 65% winning odds right now |

You're right, Duncan Keith wasn't playing 25 minutes a night when Chicago won their cups.
Drew Doughty hadn't been playing 26-28 minutes a night when LA won.
Zdeno Chara didn't play that much when Boston won
Lidstrom didn't play over 26 minutes a night when Detroit won
and same with Letang
Oh, wait... |

Calling it a position of strength is a misnomer. He's right we need quality D of any kind.
Kuli-Risto
X-Trouba
It will be easier to find someone to fill that void left by mccabe than it will be to fill the one that would in theory be solved by adding trouba. Although I doubt McCabe+Fasching would be enough. - Sabresfan-365
McCabe's currently ability, his potential to improve, and most importantly his current contract, make it not nearly as cut and dry as you make it seem.
I'll go even further: I'd rather have McCabe at his contract, ability, and potential, than another guy making $6M or so who might or might not be a big time difference maker. |

He hates the city of Winnipeg IMO.
He is playing 22 min a night. That's top 4 minutes - sbroads24
It's probably a combination of the two.
He probably could stomach playing in Winnipeg if he played the position he was most comfortable. However, combine playing in Winnipeg with a position he doesn't want to play, and you have a perfect storm of "I don't want to be here". |

If the Sabres acquired Trouba right now, he would be the 2nd best defenseman on this team, and it wouldn't be close. McCabe could pass him eventually, but he definitely hasn't yet. |

They are the same age, same draft class. So far, Trouba is much better.
I don't think we need Trouba, but I think we always should consider an upgrade on this blue line |

When a guy is playing 26 mins a night, trying to get him a bit less time isn't necessarily a bad thing. Especially if you're looking to make a playoff run.
Most guys aren't Duncan Keith and can play 30 mins a night. Keith is an anomaly more than the norm. |
