This again? Most of the top 25 guys in the league in ATOI were 26 and older. Risto is only 21, and Trouba, the other is only 22(but was 21 for half the season). There's a few reasons why: they don't have the experience, they don't have the experience to know when to conserve energy, they're still growing into their bodies, trust of the coaches which goes with experience. All the guys you listed were older than Risto and Trouba. Hell, Keith, Chara, and Lidstrom were in their(late) 30's!

There has never been more American entertainment than what will probably take place tonight. Politics sucks, and all this endless campaigning sucks, but I wouldn't miss these debates for anything.

No Keith isn't, he was kind of in the middle, not as young as Doughty, but not as old as Lidstrom, and Chara. I added the late afterward and was just too lazy to delete Keith, but he was in his 30's, and the central point was that Risto is only 21.

Yes, I did, maybe I wasn't as clear as I meant to be. He'll play more minutes better when he's older. I guess I should've just said that, but there was a big hullabaloo when Bylsma said he wanted to reduce his minutes and some said he'd never be a #1 unless he played top minutes, but the problem with that is the vast majority of guys who play top minutes are over the age of 26. Risto being 5 years younger than that and for a variety of reasons which I already listed younger guys generally don't play top minutes, or don't succeed when they do. Risto had a hell of an offensive season, but his positioning in the D zone was horrific at times, likely because he was tired and had to try and cheat his way through.

They should just do what the Ukrainians and the Russians, and the Japanese and the Koreans do and just beat the poop out of each other in session. I bet that would work a lot of things out.

You're right, Duncan Keith wasn't playing 25 minutes a night when Chicago won their cups.

Drew Doughty hadn't been playing 26-28 minutes a night when LA won.

Zdeno Chara didn't play that much when Boston won

Lidstrom didn't play over 26 minutes a night when Detroit won
