If we had Eichel and Reinhart in the NCAA/AHL last year and they were coming in this year we'd be saying the same things that they are. We'd be talking about how Eichel dominated the NCAA and Reinhart kept getting better and better as the year went on in the AHL. Our prospect rankings would have been super high too.
We just had our guys playing in the big leagues. That's the only difference. - Zschalberg
How is that 1st we lost for Leaner Lehner ? Which would you take ? |

people forget carrier put up like 23 points in his last 25 ahl games before he got hurt
kid is the most under rated prospect we have IMO - homiedclown
Been playing like his pants are on fire so far. There's a lot of anger in his game. Not sure I've seen that from him before. But I kind of like it. |

43 points in 37 college games. TSN said the other day they expect him to sign with Ottawa once the NCAA season ends. I'd rather have the pick since the 1st itself is an asset.
Ask me after this year. If Lehner plays 60 games and we make the playoffs I think Lehner. If we miss I'd like the pick back. |

- Top two are both the same injury
- Concussion is a concussion. Many players get them. Feb 16 & 17 are also the same injury
- Another injury on Dec 4
- "Personal Reasons" totally sounds like an injury, right?
So what are you just saying? That he's been injured 3 times in unrelated ways? That doesn't make it look chronic at all. If it was ankle injury, ankle injury, ankle injury, ankle injury you'd have a case but it's not. Players get hurt. It sucked that he happened to get hurt so early in the year. That doesn't mean that he's going to die this year. Doesn't mean he won't, either. It means he has a chance to get injured and has a chance to not get injured just like every other player in the league. - Zschalberg
I'm not saying the dude is injury prone, but he's played a total of 46 games in the last two full years as an NHL regular.
It's really not crazy to wonder what would happen if he gets hurt again. |

Colin White, the reigning Hockey East Rookie of the Year, was second on the team in scoring after logging 19 goals and 24 assists for 43 points in 2015-16. The Hanover, Mass., native, is poised for big production this year and will help anchor the Eagles offensive attack. In all of college hockey last season, White was fourth amongst all rookies with 43 points. (35 games)

Last year was only his 2nd in the professional game, too. He started to come into his own. If he progresses this year like he did last year there's no reason he can't play himself into the lineup. Would be nice to have.
Carrier, Bailey, Fasching, Nylander, Baptiste. Of those 5 hopefully one of them is a homerun. Hopefully the others can still be good NHL players. Once we start paying Eichel and Reinhart their big money players like these guys are going to be the key call ups that make 1-2M and can pot 20 goals. |

He'd have to play another 2 years in the NCAA after this one to do that. |

He did have a good stretch for Edmonton last year, like Pach mentions. And just like all the other goalies that Edmonton has marched in and out of their lineup, he ended up struggling.
Call me crazy, but I don't think the goaltending is actually the issue there..... - HonkFortheGoose

Talk about it, sure. To say we're concerned about the backup spot is another. 29 other teams have goaltenders that could get hurt and most of them don't have amazing backups. Some, like Pittsburgh and Tampa, do because of home grown guys. Others like Dallas have split nets. But a good amount of teams have career backups behind their number 1 that if he goes down there's a drop off. We have the same. It's not ideal but it's what there is. We could also have the homegrown kid in Ullmark play, depending on how we feel about him and how we feel about Nillson.
Point being, talk about it, yes. Be concerned about it, nah. |

I missed the joke... I agree with all of that...
Edmonton takes good goalies, puts them in a bad spot, and then they ship them out to better teams where they do okay. |

Hahaha
Well said sir!
Although I will say that's it's been encouraging that he's played well
I'm still nervous about what the regular season will bring |

The joke is Edmonton wanting to point to goaltending as the reason they suck year after year.

It's probably between Carrier & Bailey for 1st callup duty this season
They'll both play some games up here I'd think |

It's rare that goaltending effects a team in a major way unless your Cory Schnieder, Lundqvist or Price anyways.

Probably will depend on who's doing better in the AHL at the time. Typically it seems the guy that's doing the best there is the one that gets the call up. I've definitely liked what I've seen from Carrier so far this year though.
Unfortunately I didn't get to catch very much of the Rochester season last year. Life got busy and I just didn't have time. |

team has a lot of flexibility with eichel, reinhart, ror, ennis, foligno, girgens
they can play center or wing in a pinch
nice problem to have given the time we had mair as our second line center |

The Rangers actually didn't do too poorly when Lundqvist was out for that extended period of time either. Part of how Talbot ended up in Edmonton (where goalies go to die). His numbers were relatively decent there. But I'm sure he's the problem and they'll need to move on from him shortly. |

Agree 100%. I'm of the mindset that if you have a good system and good defenders you only need a decent goaltender. If you have the top tier goalie he's going to play well regardless and will win games you shouldn't normally win, but otherwise you get the average guy and build around him. |
