Isn't it funny how certain athletes can be just tossed aside in most systems, yet when they find that perfect match and situation, they can just be totally dominant?

I saw more emotion from him yesterday then the entire 2015, 2014 and 2013 bills combined

The suffering has ended (thank god), they should make a nice run at a playoff spot?

Couple questions:
45% Goaltending
20% Coaching
15% Top 4 D (still think Murray does a Garth Snow move here soon)
10% Scoring/PP
10% other teams in the conference (have they improved etc....)

Looking forward to it!

Now - lets see the Bills make a move for another top WR? Who is out there, what can we deal? Schedule/defense just might make us contenders if the offense can put up more than 16 points a game!

I've now seen Jason Kasdorf in goal twice in about 2 weeks. Both times were awful. Let's hope that Ullmark gets to play 90% of the games in Rochester, otherwise that team doesn't have a chance.

Was just thinking the same actually. I know it seems like a stretch but imo theres just too much on the line this season to not make another move. Bottom line is you can't not take advantage of the fact that your two best players are making rookie $. Push for post season this year then go big in 17-18 before 15 and 23 are due for a massive raise.

I remember when Bill Hoppe tried to spin a story about how Kasdorf wasn't just a throw in but a valuable asset and such.

The game the other night was just downright brutal. And he looked awful against the Boston prospects when I went to that a couple weeks ago. He did have a decent amount of success in college, so maybe there's some hope for him, but I'm not holding my breath.

I mean he had a good senior year and thats about it. For me its Petersen or bust as far as the goalies go. Maybe Johansson steps up too.

If he keeps up his avg for tackles, he'll be near his career high by week 7.

I definitely like what I've seen from Petersen at ND. Not an Ullmark fan? I like what he's been able to do so far.

I don't know what to make of him. I just feel like he's missing that "it factor" that separates True starters from fringe starters/career backups.

I'm wondering why they aren't using Bush in a receiver type role.

I don't know. I think what he was able to do last year while with the big club was pretty damn impressive. Especially when you factor in he was coming off of double hip surgery.

There are areas of his game that could probably use a little work, but I thought he looked pretty good in there.

Early on when he came up he looked really good. Then it sort of started falling apart. You're right though its impressive coming off double hip surgery and he is still young. Its just that you tend to see this sort of thing from young goalies and it winds up giving you false hope and when they don't take that next step you realize you've invested in a dud.

Not necessarily a bad thing, but he certainly isn't a fiery guy like Lehner is. The contrast is pretty huge when you look at the two of them.

I'm a huge believer in the "it factor", but then again, nobody would have guessed Ryan Miller had it after crying after his first game against Detroit in 2003-2004.

I also watch goaltenders like Price and even Corey Crawford, and realize there are exceptions. Whenever I watch them, I don't get the feeling of "he's going to save this puck" so much as "this puck is going to hit him in the chest, because that's what it always does". A lot of that is positioning, which is absolutely to their credit, but for some reason, they both have a "Jay Cutler-esque" demeanor (with much better results, mind you) that isn't exactly synonymous with the "it factor" in the traditional sense.

Nope.

Just seems like he's going to have the type of career that you think he's just kinda there then all of a sudden you're like wow! Never knew he had those type of numbers when you factor in the teams he was on.

he doesn't move very well. maybe as he gets further from the surgery that will get better. but i felt like he didn't move a smoothly as you would like him too

Honest question, does Osgood have anywhere near the lengthy career if he doesn't play in Detroit?

I haven't gotten to see him play yet this year. But I would think that it probably had something to do with it. In the prospect camps I went to prior to last year (he didn't participate being that he was coming off surgery still), I thought he moved fine. There were other guys that looked like they struggled with that a lot more (Makarov for instance).

Right, but in price's case his it factor is that pressure seems to be non existent. Doesn't matter the scenario he's unfazed and ready to go. Im not as big on goaltending as most are but with Ullmark i just dont see that thing that would make me think hes capable of making that big save or coming up big on a penalty kill.
