I dunno, The forward group on Boston is good, but that defense
I can't see the forwards on Toronto being very impactful. Andersen is a question mark and the defense is not very deep at all. You and I differ on our opinions of Gardiner |

What I'm curious about is how you feel about Grabner being a Ranger? Is he a great player now that he's a Ranger? - Cptmjl
He's so trash dude I hate it |

I feel like these writers do not watch hockey and just say stuff to piss people off. Especially Tanner. Boston and leafs are better 10 spaces better then Buffalo, Ottawa and Detriot. Montreal is so bad you cant even see them. |

If used properly he can be effective. I think he'll do good with AV. |

I think he'll start the season as the 13th F and hopefully be relegated to the AHL in due time |

I dont think most Leaf fans hate Buffalo. Just Garth. Which for some reason makes alot of Sabres fans angry. - systemtool
I think it's more like "we're allowed to make fun of our own, but you're an outsider, so (frank) you and the horse you rode in on." kinda thing. |

Wait...
You're actually claiming Garth as one of your own?
Eeek...

Need a couple of new replacement owners in a Yahoo fantasy league. 20 Team, large rosters, weekly matchups, 7 keepers (6 skaters and 1 goalie).
We are entering year 2 of league. PM me if interested with your email address and i'll send the invite |

It's likely going to be:
1. Tampa Bay
2. Florida
-
-
-
-
-
8. Buffalo
Then it is a total crapshoot after that.
Too many unknowns at this point. For MTL Price needs to be Price and they could finish high. for TOR, The kids will need to steal games and goaltending will have to pan out as planned. For OTT they'll need above average goaltending and some firepower up front, not just from EK. For DET... this is likely the year they miss the playoffs. For BOS I don't think replacing Eriksson with Backes is going to work out too well. BUF is going to be bad... really bad. - mlindsay
There is a fair bit of talent in Buffalo. I wouldn't guarantee them last place at all. No talent in Ottawa. Could be them.
Or Detroit. Some buddies on my beer league team could make that defense. |

People putting Wings in the 7th or 8th spot, below Ottawa and Buffalo, are plain crazy.
Datsyuk is not much of a loss now days, he was hurt and disinterested for most of last season.
I promise you, they'll fight Boston and Montreal for that 3rd spot,
if no major injuries, of course.

It's funny that Toronto produces more hockey fans, more hockey players, more coaches, more everything, gets more coverage, has more publications, is basically the hockey centre of the world.
And somehow, fans of a team like Buffalo, who have no credible history, don't produce players, media, have little to no minor league hockey base, are basically a dump of a city, somehow think they can make comments like that. |

I do! It's because he was 18 and not able to carry a line at center like Eichel was asked to.
I mean, Matthews looked excellent, but he was riding shotgun to the games best.
He did snipe that tap in about 6 inches into the net when McJesus put it on his blade - sbroads24
So, their solution was to nail him to the bench, with some spot time on the 4th line? Just cause he was so good eh? |

i really thought you were better than this...
btw tell us all about the leafs rich history in winning, culture, their dynasties, their hall of famers, top players, their notoriety and all that makes the leafs and toronto for that matter the mecca of hockey. Im dying to hear about it. Give me a line on the leafs that was better than the french connection.... |

When exactly was he nailed to the bench? He played two shifts in overtime when they played there last game?
If he was so atrocious he wouldn't have seen the ice in OT.
I mean, Matthews deserves praise, he looked great, but I responded to a post that said Eichel wasn't in his league.
Niether Matthews or Eichel were in McDavid, Mackinnon's, or JG's league. That's what I saw. |

I disagree. Matthews showed he could hang with those guys. Eichel was outclassed by almost all the NA forwards.
Again, it really has no bearing on what kind of career he has, but that is what happened during this particular tournament. |

How was he outclassed by Drouin, Larkin, Couterier, Saad?

The Leafs will be interesting because they are adding three blue chip top rookies into the lineup at the same time, and possibly a guy like Brown as well. Zaitsev is looking like at least an added 2nd or 1st pairing Dman. All new goaltending. A more experienced Rielly, healthy JVR, etc.
Not saying they'll make the playoffs but it's a very different team, not sure how confident people should be that they won't climb up this division. They were a very different team in how they played last year, for the last place team it was the most competitive Leaf team in a while, and most Leaf fans will tell you that. There's your 'culture change'. Now that new system is getting a pretty big transfusion of skill. I think they'll be significantly improved. |
