How was he outclassed by Drouin, Larkin, Couterier, Saad? - sbroads24
Well he did say almost. So yeah, he was among the worst. There were one or two that may have sucked just a little more. |

More like 6 or 7. But hey who's counting. Eichel had 8 shots on goal and 2 points. Matthews had 10 shots and 3 points playing with McDavid. Not really a super impressive difference

I think it's more like "we're allowed to make fun of our own, but you're an outsider, so (frank) you and the horse you rode in on." kinda thing. - Wetbandit1
I knew Garf was one of the Sabres gang. Good for you, sticking up for a buddy though. |

He certainly acts like a stereotypical Sabres fan. I can't really tell Garf apart from the others |

Congrats on finding the reason I said "almost".
I've made an honest assessment of what I saw. You don't have to agree. It doesn't matter.
(Oh and by the way... Larkin was WAY more impressive than Eichel. It was not even close.) |

Not true... I have had a couple really bad moments on HB... like an arguement that went on for about 10 pages, where I ended up accusing someone of editing a previous post of theirs, only to have to admit shortly thereafter that I got confused, and was wrong.
That sucked.

I mean, just cause you're honest, doesn't mean you're remotely correct.
Larkin was actually benched, as in scratched for a game. Eichel was moved off his line in favor of the best player for NA in Mackinnon for about 5 minutes in a period
But you're right, it doesn't matter |

Not sure why so many are high on Toronto? Babs will be looking for another high draft pick after selling the farm at deadline as they did last season. I wouldn't be surprised if he kept all his young guns in the A & junior after their 10 game stints - Matthews included. Has he really built the solid team his young guys need to be 'safe'? I think the Leafs will be battling for the bottom even though they could be more competitive not selling the kitchen sink!
Buffalo - sorry but after years of losing on purpose that's something that needs a few years of fighting to get over!
Can I ask where all the gun prospects in Detroit are? The organisation has gone from the model that everyone should follow to the poophouse in 1 season! What has occurred that they are now so poor they will miss the playoffs?? Where are all the young guns?
Tampa is going to implode - book it you heard it here first! They should have a cup by now but they don't & they are about to lose some talent having to keep anchors!
Boston is the dark horse...... |

Some exciting young talent.
It will take a couple weeks before people remember that young talent takes some time to develop ... and remember how bad our defense is.

I would think the Babcock plan would be a few years of picking high - 1st if possible all the while following the plan from last season by selling off talent for picks at the deadline. Protect his young talent but giving them a taste until he is satisfied with the FA pick ups he can have a solid team ready to compete. Remember he kept his talent cooking in Detroit, why would he baptise them in fire now in Toronto??
I think there's another year to get a high pick, maybe even 2 if he can pull it off - JVR anyone??? |

Last year, they were pretty much set with a plan. I think it is more fluid this year. I am guessing they play guys like Greening and Michalek, hoping for a pump and dump at the deadline.
I'm not a fan of JVR, but he is one of the few established forwards they have that has any sort of talent. I am really not sure if they trade him or not. I wouldn't be surprised though.

Trading JVR to the Hawks would be the best result in my mind. Doubt they get out of the 1st round (if they get there), & I would think they jump at a player of his ability. They've pretty much sold the farm to date so not sure what's left to pick up so picks may be the only thing - which would be fine I think for the Leafs. Maybe the Ducks would give a nice young Dman for him which would be pretty good as well but you probably wouldn't get that first round pick. |
