Nah, they're pretty good about that. They've even flown people back here off of their vacations before during things like this, including someone who was home visiting Buffalo (not me). - stashu

A younger and faster Vanek? I could get on board with that. 316 goals, 649 points. Vanek's issue was that he wasn't a superstar and wasn't able to carry a team. If Nylander is the same way it's no big deal, because that's Jack's job. - Zschalberg
idk... From what I've seen so far he doesn't look very fast.

So Gerbe is not in Buffalo Bill's pit after all. I guess he's just busy with work and school.
He says to say he thinks the team will be a tire fire with this defense, and that he's shocked they haven't made a trade for defense, and what was the backup plan for Vesey? |

I was just told he was fast.
So he's a younger Vanek. Still good. |

Were we a tire fire last year? Because it's the same defense. The offense was a tire fire. I just don't get that idea.
And the backup plan was this. Vesey is okay. You don't need a backup plan for okay. Wish he would have signed, been over it for months. |

Watching the sabres game (not sure which night) he looked timid with average speed. Doesn't seem very impressive so far.
I didn't watch any of the WJ's so maybe that was more wide open compared to our poopty offense? |

The question comes down to is Kulikov better than Pysyk. If that answer is yes then the defense is either the same or better than last year. That's it. They weren't good last year, weren't god awful. So they'll either be the same or a little bit better. Then you have a starting goaltender who hopefully plays more games and players who have been in the system for a year now. Add in the new offensive players and hope for a rebound from some of the other guys and if a few things go right we'll be fine.
That's it. See ya tomorrow folks. |

Or because maybe he's timid against men and against boys he knew he could be as good or better than them and was able to turn it on. I don't know, I've only seen him against prospects and for one preseason game. Rochester was my time to evaluate him |

Wouldn't part of that question also include the maturation of McCabe and Risto? |

Yeah, here I am sitting around like wtf do I do? I can move snow, this rain crap I have no idea what to do - Stripes77
Yeah, I was chatting with someone who used to work here but moved back to Buffalo and mentioned the good news is we usually have days of advanced notice unlike Blizzards which sometimes come up quite quick.
We've been soaked in the last 3-4 weeks up here, so another hurricane now is gonna suck for the flooding. |

I don't think that's necessarily the question. It wasn't a position for position trade, Pysyk is a righty who played on the 3rd pair, Kulikov is a lefty who's expected to play on the 1st.
I think it's more "is Kulikov better than Gorges"? And that has to be yes.
Is Kulikov better than the guy he's replacing(Gorges)? and is the guy who's replacing Pysyk(seems to be undetermined at this point, but likely Franson) better than Pysyk? I think it's a wash, but Kulikov will have the chance to more positively affect the team, but the reverse is also true, so who the (frank) knows?
Convoluted enough for you? |

I gathered that from your avatar What's the guy's name? I can't remember, but he was pretty good in that Vince Vaughn Ben Stiller movie about aliens. About the only good thing about that movie.

Went through a Cat 2 in Florida years ago, as i had just moved down their i was quite nervous and didn't know what to expect....
Seemed like just another day to most people down there. Though there were noticeably less senior citizens on the roads so I'd almost call it a good thing |

I'm not sure I'd want 4-5 days notice like this one. After the 2nd day and you have everything done you're just sitting around twiddling your thumbs waiting to get hammered. You usually get a day or 2 for a big winter storm and that's plenty of time. |

If Sam got sent back to ….where ever it was…Jr, rochester, whatever, im fine with Nylander developing properly. We dont need to force development at this point. A well seasoned kid will benefit us much more in a few years than a shellshocked kid now. |
