Surprisingly he skates relatively well compared to most players of his ilk.

The downside is that he handles the puck like it's a (frank)ing grenade, and one that will explode in a couple of seconds at that. And that's before you consider his propensity to hit in the numbers...

Carrick and Corrado would definitely be preferable, but grit and intangibles and some other poop will take precedence

In a limited 3rd pairing only role. He can be affective. He's hard to play against.

Anything above that role and he's useless...

no, hunwick stays because Babs loves him too much.

I would honestly be surprised if Polak isn't brought up in pre game talks for the other team as players they want to take advantage of when he's on the ice. I find that the opposite of hard to play against

Fast teams will get him. He's a liability then I agree.

But he's a physical guy who is mobile on his skates. He's a workhorse in the wieght room.

But other than that meh.

I don't mind him as the number 7 cause he does seem like a decent guy and throw him in now and again but I don't think he should be playing every night

I feel like he's a guy you can plug in when you're in need of some physicality (Martin or Komarov get injured and someone needs to step up and be tough), he can use his body to make opposing forwards pay but as the league gets faster and faster, he just can't cut it. Whenever he has the puck I just feel like I'm holding my breath for something dumb or bad to happen. With the Leafs having Hunwick, I think there's really only a need for one of those types of players (older, experience, somewhat mobile and "near the end").

I agree completely. Like I said I think he can be a good d man in certain situations.

If they play his cards right and play him for let's say 50 games it's a win for both.

I agree completely. Especially when you have guys like carrick who maybe isn't the most physical except for when he leveled Ryan last night they. They could use him then.
