Lievo hasn't played a pre season game.

I think they have a good idea of who's in and they probably want to give them more time together to gel before the season starts. Just my opinion.

Leivo has to pass through waivers and he'd likely be picked up by another team, so if the Leafs actually wanted him the roster, you would think he'd be playing more than one game to show his ability and progress. or even more than one game to show other teams he's worth trading for

Honestly that could be it, maybe an under the radar type thing. i'm guessing he sees some ice somewhere in the next 3 games and then they nonchalantly slip him through waivers. Its not a big loss anyways if someone takes him, that's one less contract to get guys like timashov signed (i think)
