Relevancy in sports is based on winning championships, of which NJ has 3 in the last 21 years and 15 playoff appearances in that time. NJ may be one of the more disliked franchises, I'll give you that, but I wouldn't call them irrelevant. The entire country of Canada hasn't won a cup in 20 years which consists of 7 NHL teams. If you want to discuss relevancy...I do like Poutine though, delicious.

You gotta love selective history. The Devils, even in their heyday were largely ignored in the Greater NYC market. Now they are a lousy team and still ignored.

Chicago was once a joke of a franchise. Rocky Wirtz turned things around a decade ago. Now they are seen as a benchmark franchise. Successful off and on the ice.

They Leafs past failures are well documented but they no longer define them. Only an idiot does not think they are one of the up and coming teams in the league. Good management, great coaching, a well stocked farm system. Being the richest team in the league doesn't hurt either.

As far as poutine goes, intelligent people know poutine is a popular dish in the province of Quebec. Poutine is not widely available in Toronto or Ontario for that matter. However, your joke, no matter how many times you say it, remains a real thigh slapper

I applied the system I developed for a keeper league years ago. A-B-C offense and defense.

JVR(O-A, D-B) - Bozak (O-B, D-C)- Hyman (O-C, D-B)- Why? Remember the defensive inabilities of this line with Kessel? Marner is similar to Kessel in terms of defensive skill today.

Komarov(O-C, D-A) - Kadri (O-B, D-B) - Marner (O-B, D-C) - Would someone please give Kadri a skilled player to play with? Kom and Kad are good enough defensively to make up for Marner's youth.

Michalek(O-C, D-B) - Matthews(O-B, D-B) - Nylander (O-B, D-C)- need a better veteran presence here, someone who is two way, and a leader. Nylander needs similar defensive growth as Marner.

Martin(O-C, D-B) - Laich(O-C, D-B) - Holland(O-C, D-B) - Fine forecheck line here.

These grades are not based on potential, but on where the player is today.
