Las Vegas owner Bill Foley and president Kerry Bubolz are hopeful the NHL expansion franchise that will begin play in the 2017-18 season will announce its nickname in early-to-mid November.

"We have registered the three names related to Knights," Foley told Yahoo on Tuesday. "[They're] Desert Knights, Silver Knights and Golden Knights, and we have clearance on those names and we picked one of them.

"We settled on the name about 45 days ago, maybe even a bit more than that. So then it was just refining the logo and refining the color scheme that goes around that logo."

Bubolz reiterated Foley's desire to announce the nickname next month during an interview with SiriusXM NHL Network Radio on Tuesday.

"We're far along in the process, and there's a desire to get everything completed," Bubolz said. "We're looking forward to saying who we are and adding that to the marketing mix."

I guess Desert Knights? Because having a color in your name is stupid, unless it's like the Blue Jackets for the civil war soldiers who wore, well, blue jackets. I forget why the Red Wings are red, but it's not just because they liked the color red.

Yeah, usually about 3 for me, sometimes less, but it can be nice, because if I'm listening in the car and get home but want to keep listening I have enough time to get inside and turn my computer on and pull it up and they still haven't gotten to where I left off.

Occasionally I use the phone app, but it really sucks and crashes constantly. I've had it on 3 phones with multiple installs to no avail, it just sucks.
