It really opens up a can of worms for us to be forced into playing Sbisa or Biega. Perhaps that's why there are rumours we're keeping Biega over Pedan. Trade Sbisa during the season and get Biega in the games he needs to be exposed. - NorthNuck
I think Sbisa will get his games in so they can expose him, but it just goes to show you it Sbisa was traded or got hurt before playing 29 games, Biega would have to play.
the LV draft is like picking up the monopoly community chest card. it is an interesting twist to the operations of a hockey club. |

I'm not saying Corrado will make the team, I'm saying Pedan is a better hockey player. TO and several teams would likely claim the kid. It's idiotic to put him on waivers - CanuckDon
Is he better now or is it more upside? |

For a 6th/ 7th dman? I think he is better now and has more upside. Extremely toolsy player that loves to fight |

Won't be sad to see Etem dropped, we tried and failed with that guy.

Having watched Tuomo play in NJ for a couple years I would be livid he makes the team. Absolutely not worth wasting a roster spot on. Guy looked completely done. |

Hypothetically who would the team in LV prefer to take from us? Sbisa/Biega, Dorsett, Granlund, Etem, Gaunce? I would imagine Gaunce would be the guy to go especially considering how he is trending upwards at the moment. - NorthNuck
Can't LV also take Pedan? I am pretty sure he qualifies in the expansion draft |

You're right. Let's waive him he's as good as gone anyways. |

He doesn't have the NHL games, unless he plays 40 this season, if the guy I quoted is right, "They are required to expose at least one defenseman and two forwards who have played at least 40 games in 2016-17 or 70 games in the past two seasons."

Not for the min 1 exposed, but he qualifies to be taken in the draft. So we could lose him to LV if we do not protect him. Could be worth trying to move to AHL and risking losing him, rather than playing him and losing him in the expansion anyways. LV is not limited to just NHL players they can take. Would be ridiculous to assume they take 30 NHLer's and waive 7 to go back to w/e team wants em. |

I say we take him and sit him in the press box for most of the season just to make Beatle John go ape poop. |

It would be very hard to stand behind Benning any longer if he lost the #8 guy on Defensive depth 2 out of 3 years, while stil having a 4.5 mil plug like Burrows and a 3.6 mil joke in Sbisa.
If Pedan is picked up on waivers then I do hope heads will roll in Canucks management. Larsen has done absolutely nothing and it is ridiculous that he is still being considered as part of the Canucks |

My top 8 D this year would be Edler Tanev Hutton Guddy Stecher Pedan Biega Tryamkin .
Biega would be your exposed man next year. |

I'm not usually one to freak out about trades, contracts or waivers...but i would be very disappointed in Biega was in the lineup and we lost one of PEdan, Tryamkin or even Larsen (who i have ahead of Biega in the depth chart) to waivers.
I can't see that happening tho. |

If Pedan is waived it's a huge asset management problem. |

I feel the same way...that said, I don't believe they will expose Pedan. It just doesn't make sense when Biega can be exposed without any risk. |

The first comment you stated is still up for debate and is mostly speculation. We don't know what this management group sees for a depth chart. They are mostly trying to find a good fit without rocking the boat too much. Sbisa kind of has us handcuffed with his contract and the fact that he could still improve (unlikely).
I do agree that Pedan shouldnt be waived and if they feel he is where he needs to be in terms of development, then they should not just waive him based on the previous notion of finding a good fit.
I think there is a much larger plan then just to waive guys to ice the best team but also to prepare for the potential outcome of the LV draft like previously mentioned. I cant imagine anyone wants our players at this point outside a few of the guys we have high hopes for. If Biega remains with the team, I will be incredibly blown away....

this ... although I think there is a perception that biega will make the safe play while pedan is still a little more reckless ...

Most of this is generated by guys like Sekeres and Imac. A lot has changed since training camp. Sekeres knows very little about hockey and is a walking talking blow heart with a good vocabulary and a drawn out obnoxious nasal drawl . I don't regard him as any type of an insider and yet he is the one driving this waive Pedan bus.

Biega is injury call up for me. The only time I would have Biega ahead of anyone, including Larsen and Tryamkin is if hes on the big club to be in the pressbox and you want Larsen/Tryamkin/Pedan/Stecher/etc seeing icetime in Utica and not in the pressbox |

I still think he is a better player than Sbisa. He is no where near as dumb as our Italian friend.
JB should be on the horn right now seeing if he could get a box of crackers for LS. |

Everyone seems to agree Sbisa improved last year. Is it impossible for him to improve again? |
