Why are you so anxious to create cap space in October? Management doesn't agree withy you so Sbisa is staying put. He is better (at this stage) than Tree, Pedan and Biega. It's smarter "asset management" to play him in sheltered minutes for a month and hopefully generate trade value than simply dumping him in the minors because he is the guy fans love to hate. He isn't going anywhere until a trade is made. - CanuckDon
Sending Sbisa down would not create cap space. I just don't think you build a young team around Sbisa. I won't change , I don't like him as a player . Any chance I can move him I would get rid of that contract.
Stop trying to convince me to like him , not gonna happen |

I disagree that you won't change and agree to disagree I am not trying to convince anyone Sbisa is a good player. I simply want management to demonstrate patience. |

I understand the D need to change, but if you were going to do that wouldnt you make the most room by moving someone like Edler or Tanev? It would bring the best return and open space for guys to move up and take on more icetime. Targeting a guy like Sbisa who had something close to 9% of the 5on5 icetime last season as the one to go seems like a minimal impact decision |

That was my initial thought as well.
However, if Tree will agree to play in Utica, then i'd keep Stetcher, as he adds things our Dunit is missing. - dbot
What is tryamkins contract ? I thought he signed agreeing that he would make the Canucks or go back to khl ...no utica ...if he changes his mind and goes to Utica is he waiver exempt ? |

He is waiver exempt...you are correct on all points. I don't he agrees to a paycut. |

It would take some ego massaging and promises of being the first called up, as soon as we make some trades
More likely that Stetcher and Biega are sent down. |

This is my take only, I haven't heard any insider info or anything.
Tanev and Edler are mentioned in most proposals because of the flaws in their games. You very seldom hear teams saying lets trade Jossi or Ghost or up n coming young Dmen.
Tanev and Edler are the best of the Canucks D right now. Last year they were the only two reliable Dmen on the team with flashes of Hutton on the way up.The rest of them including Hamhuis were not that good as TDL showed us our open garbage can we called our D.
When Nashville moved Weber and Jones they made sure that the back end could lose the pieces and still carry on at a top level.
Canucks are not there. Tanev and Edler both have flaws and that is why you always see them mentioned as trade bait.
Thankfully Hutton turned into a top 4 player and we are hoping Stecher does the same. Juolevi looks like he is going to be the real deal and Stecher looks like Hutton 2.0 up to now.
When we get a bottom 4 that are reliable and one or two prospect ready to come up then we move our best 2 Dmen. Adding Guddy is adding another top 4 . We are getting close to moving Edler Tanev with disturbance , but we are not there today. |

I think he would bolt to the KHL for more $ and try again next year. It's unfortunate but reality |

According to CA.
Sheppard released,
Lebate, Rendulic cut, along with Juolevi and Zhukenov back to Jrs.
Tkachuck can rest easy. |

No huge surprises. Lebate will be back . As long as the fan base doesn't force Benning to extend Burrows , then he will be his replacement. |

My wife was born in Philippines . Whenever someone ask what nationality she is , she immediately responds Filipina even though she has been a Canadian now for 15 years.
That said Mommeso and Isabella Sbisa are wonderful Swiss names |

So what would happen if Sbisa got injured before his games needed to be exposed and Biega doesnt get enough either? How would that work about being compliant with expansion draft? |

You'd have to expose someone else that fits that criteria.
It'll be interesting to see if teams trade/sign players that would fit that bill (to avoid exposing players of value) |
