It is a strange situation. JB must really like Sbisa or see him as that veteran presence.

I'm all for exposing Sbisa but I'm guessing with the injuries last season and being stuck with an inexperienced d corps during the free fall, JB doesn't see a Pedan, Larsen, Tryamkin, Biega, Stecher as a good mix for 5-8. while most would rather see Sbisa gone, cap hit savings and see who is the best fit.

I don't think there's any player on the Canuck's D save for Tanev, Hutton and Guddy that any team would consider giving up any assets for or even bother trading cap space for.

I think you are right, I still don't see the logic in keeping Biega over Pedan then unless we end up seeing both go to Utica.

Pedan is on waivers because he is still not an NHL player and with the team guaranteeing other young players roles, they would prefer Biega who they know can come in and play reliably.

Corrado like it or not showed more at the NHL level then Pedan, I'll be surprised if Pedan is picked up and if he does, it is a very small loss to the Canucks although it will hurt the Comets.

A lot of underlying circumstances this year as far as the expansion draft when deciding on who and who not to keep. For instance, as mentioned earlier in the thread, Sbisa needs to play 39 games to be eligible and Biega 19 I think.
