Every team has question marks, but ours are bigger if that makes any sense.
There's no question about what the sens will get from hoffman and stone up front, Karlsson on the blueline or Anderson in net.
I think the detroit predictions are just out of respect to their long playoff run
Im guessing we'd be predicted a lot higher if Lehner played more last year. - Sabresfan-365

Ya know what though, I kind of prefer for people to see us an an underdog. I think it gives the team extra motivation to try and prove people wrong. Sometimes expectations can be a big weight and can drag guys down.
Hopefully all of this causes our guys to go out there with a chip on their shoulder. |

The difference is past performance. The Sabres have been a bad team for the past 5 years, and on paper (key words, on paper) haven't made any earth shattering improvements. I have yet to see any media outlet predict the massive amount of internal growth (see the 2005-2006 Sabres) that it will take for this team to make the playoffs for any team. |

Who asked you?
Shouldn't you be doing other things, like evacuating so you don't get swept into the ocean? |

I bet. I hope you make it through ok. It's times like this that remind me why I stick around in the North. I'd much rather shovel snow out of my drive way than be afraid the roof is going to get ripped off of my house or have my house flooded up over my kitchen counters. |

Hmmmm. That roster is not quite as deep as the 76/77 Canadians team....

They at least made the playoffs in a couple of those preceding years. That last five seasons have been outright horrendous with the exception of last year, which was tolerable, but still not good. |

Not sure what you were counting on. I don't see any other team on this list that was around as bad as the Sabres were for as long as they have been predicted to be good. Media outlets just don't do that. They're too "safe". |

I think my issue with it is that there are media outlets have the Leafs finishing ahead of the Sabres. It's kind of hypocritical in a way, is it not? |

Kane-Eichel-Reinhart will be good to watch again, nice to see that it looks like Dan is following through on keeping 15-23 together. |

I don't think they're far behind the Sabres honestly. I don't think they make the playoffs or go ahead of us but I don't think they're that bad that it's easy to say we're clearly the better team.
Plus, it's Toronto. If they can get them to come to the site and get the views they'll be happy. |

Maybe. They don't predict either team to be that good, so it neither outrages nor surprises me. Both teams are in the same position: they need to prove to a lot of people they can be good. Their recent history definitely isn't going to do that for them.
Now, if they predicted Toronto to make the playoffs on the other hand, then I would have an issue. |
