So with the Yakapov trade on Friday, the Blues have 820k of cap space left. Could we see a Shattenkirk trade for less than what asking before the season starts?

Issue is we are running out of space too, so if it was to us, it would have us trading something like a Girgensons and 2nd rounder (maybe, if we are lucky) for him, we would have to move a Franson (which we would all want) for next to nothing or maybe even have to pay (a pick) to make it happen.

I think I would still want this, bad, just saying there would be a few moving pieces (different trades) that would be needed to make this happen.

The only way around this would be not signing Risto til the season officially starts (and Cody McCormick can go on LTIR) giving us another 1.5m to help, leaving 5.78m / season for Risto (after a trade for Shattenkirk). Actually we would have whatever was traded too, so Girgensons 1.25m too. Alright maybe we would not need another deal to make it happen.
