How do Jack and Sam's stats read that way when one was a rookie and the other was basically a rookie? They don't have 3 years of data to go by.

I'm an analyst by trade, and while the Sabres might be bad again due to their D and the questions about goaltending, I'd be seriously questioned about my analysis, and job, if I produced a prediction model based on 3 years of data when it doesn't exist.

See, but you're thinking rationally. "Hey my data is incomplete at best, and very flawed at worst. Maybe let's think on this for a few minutes." Not only are most of these guys not thinking rationally, they're not even bothering to say "Hey, we know our data is flawed, but we're just too lazy to actually look at the numbers and make any kind of conclusions. We just plug the numbers into the equation and put the product into a chart showing where teams are "predicted" to finish. And then sit on The Hub the rest of the day" They're math nerds most of them, not hockey nerds, so they can't actually use any kind of real analysis to go along with their numbers.

This is an odd feeling. I've never had Brady on a fantasy team before. I don't know how to feel that he's killing it today. Sure my team is getting 25.2 points so far(he's already exceeded his projection for the day) from him, but it's the Pats, and seriously, (frank) those guys. Thrice.

True, but it's more where the money goes that's more important. They don't need Fowler making his $4M whatever salary on the defense, but they could use another good/solid F making that. So it's more shifting the burden. There's no way Anaheim gets fair value if they're not taking any salary back.
