I'm with you there. |

The Oilers outplayed the Canucks for the majority of the game last night but they once again got out-goaltended. That'll be their downfall because they certainly carried the play the first two periods.
Shots were 36-21 for the Oil, if the Canucks and Benning think they can win the majority of those good on them, but they're playing with fire. - LeftCoaster
I thought Canucks outplayed them the whole third period. Canucks last year use to play two good periods and lay down in the third. Oilers did it tonight. |

Agreed. I do like most of the things JB has done. I don't have confidence in WD to get us through the first round playoffs. |

Let's put it this way, this summer both teams will be very close in the draft order. - VanHockeyGuy
Even though you are being sarcastic , this time you are correct. |

If our 3rd periods are better this team will be a much tougher team to play against. |

You want a team that was third worst last year to win multiple rounds of the playoffs. High expectations.
This year I just want to make the post season , next year go further again |

That's funny. Especially since the Canucks are 45-2-5 over the last 10 seasons against the Oilers . Not to mention the amount of points the Sedins have put up. - Scooby_Doo
Ummm...sure....you shorted us about 26 wins since 2006 but whatever...You want to compare the Golden era of the Canucks with the darkest days of the Oilers? Not sure if the Oilers are out of the woods yet but it's clear that the Good ol' days are over for the Canucks. |

We have a few people here that think this team is complete sh!t. They will be in for a surprise . |

And Canucks hope all teams come in here thinking like that. Whats the series at so far? - VANTEL

Of course I think they have improved.
You and the media are handing McDavid the Hart , and the Oilers the cup already and they haven't played a game.
For what they brought in this year is less than what they shipped out. - VANTEL
I don't think it's McDavid that's gonna help them the most, I've said it before that Crosby put up 102 points as an 18 year old but the Pens still finished second last, I think they've got more depth and their defence is better than it has been for years.
Honestly I don't think they'll make the playoffs but I do think they'll climb out of the bottom five. |

Why not? Get into the playoffs injury free and with momentum? It's happened before, unlikely sure. Once again I think the coach is the weak link. We'll see. |

Ya I thought the Canucks were better the whole third as well. Markstrom was good and should've been 1st star. |

Again love the fact that most outsiders view us as that.
Our golden years had a one line team. Benning is building a complete team now. We have A prospects in the cupboards and some decent B prospects.
Oilers once again are spending top money on their top 6 and bringing in D level players like Kassian |

Define success?
I think they are a bubble playoff team . so climbing ten spots in the rankings in one year is viewed as a success for me. |

Pretty much. They can maybe have a poopty year and finish higher based on other teams playing horrible tho. |

I think they are among the 5 worst teams in the West. |
