Gudas has zero discipline. Pulling this in a pre-season game after he just was fortunate enough to come away with a warning the game before. He knows the team is shorthanded between injuries, and the cap situation and yet he goes out there and pulls this garbage in a game that doesn't even count. Zero awareness. Idiotic. - PLindbergh31
Yeah, he certainly doesn't think things through. I understand his game is based on physicality, but if he can't learn to choose his spots better, he only hurts the team.

Would rather bring Desjardins out of retirement. - BiggE
They could sign Patrick Elias and make him play D. If so, I would ask the Flyers, when they have the puck, to dump it into his corner so that he gets run constantly. Hell, the other Flyers can join in. |

Yup. If he gets 5 games it really hurts the team. If Manning isn't ready to play, what are they going to do? All they need is to be digging out from a slow start again. |

May as well. Flyers always suck anyway. Heck, just forfeit every game since they're terrible anyway. |

Flyers have 0 healthy, unsuspended right handed shots on defense
Reece Willcox is our savior! - YuenglingJagr
Not sure if it was being sarcastic but I actually think Wilcox will be a solid pro. |

Danny Syvret was also a solid pro. Not an NHL one, but a very solid pro. |

He may become one some day. I don't think that day falls during October 2016. |

It wasn't a terrible hit, but it was terribly unnecessary. He's going to be costing himself some serious cash, so hopefully this will finally be the thing that makes him realize he's going to be held to a higher standard than other players and needs to tone it down.
What is a "Repeat Offender"?
A Player is considered a repeat offender for 18 months following his most recent incident that resulted in a suspension. His status as a repeat offender in this category is used to determine the amount of salary forfeited should he receive another suspension.
It is important to note that even if a Player is not defined as a repeat offender, his past history may come into consideration when determining future Supplemental Discipline.
How much money does a Player forfeit when suspended?
Non-repeat offenders lose salary based on the number of days in the season. For example, if there are 190 days in a season, a three game suspension would cost a non-repeat offender 3/190ths of his average salary.
Repeat offenders lose salary based on the number of games in a season (82). For example, a three game suspension would cost a repeat offender 3/82nds of his average salary. |

I hear you. He's just got to be more aware of the situation. He knows Del Zotto is out the first month, he knows Manning is questionable to start the season, he knows the cap situation. It just doesn't make any sense to do what he did in a game that doesn't count. He plays on the edge, I get it, he's just got to be smarter. |

That is inaccurate. Gudas was suspended last year for a hit on Zbanajed on Dec 1, 2015. That makes him a repeat offender under the CBA. The period is 18 months for repeat offender status. - MJL
No Schenn or Gudas to start the season. Keep count, guys. The Broad street bullies are back. |

Ronaldo and White would be roasted for this but for some reason gets the top pair treatment, fans question if he should or shouldn't be suspended. Of course he should. He can play the game but he's still a goon. |

I think the hit definitely warrants the suspension. I haven't seen many people on here who think he should be let off.
The difference between him and the other 2 is that, other than "energy", Gudas brings skills to the table. When he plays on the line but clean, he's a reliable 4/5 defensemen, where as White and Rinaldo were dime-a-dozen 4th liners. So in essence, losing him for 5+ games hurts the team much more than losing the other 2 would have. |

Any cuts made from Thursday to this morning? They really need to stop toying with Jordan Weal, he is as good as being sent down. |
