Very Sherlock Holmes of you Carol. I was feeling good about the trade for Granlund the last two games and thinking to myself , maybe Benning knew what he was doing.
I never thought of the comparison to Naslund just was happy he was getting better and better. It did come across my mind that this trade might end up being a steal .

I was going to post earlier that it was a win win for Cgy and Van in that trade that we swapped 20 goal scorers but too bad for CGY there guy did it in the AHL.

This is what it looks like to be desperate for talent on your aging roster. You begin to see every young guy as the next big thing.

I hope he succeeds but in no way do I feel he was a steal. We have too much young quality C depth for the likes of Granlund.

Oh really? So what has your great C depth beyond Monohan done? You aren't going to have Gaudreau at the start of the season unless he manages to sign a contract which looks unlikely right now and your goaltending still is questionable at best. You aren't any better off than we are in the talent department once you get past Monohan, Johnny Hockey and Bennett.

Sorta. Burke got hired and within hours of the announcement Baer got sent down.

Word was Sven and the organization didn't agree on where Sven's defensive game was at. And he was done playing AHL games.

Sounds like things got ugly but Rassmus Andersson looks like a future top 4 defenseman. Good trade for both teams.

Not sure on that one. From the hits that I saw JV lay back on they would have been boarding or hits from behind. Good thing he pulled back or he'd be sitting out 5 games.

That's true. I remember one hit for sure the D turned on him. And as others said he is coming off the shoulder injury.

But for a guy so close to the edge I would prefer a bit more reckless abandon. I'm probably just being too critical and impatient to see his potential realized.
