His AAV comparables are to Monahan (7 @ $6.375), MacKinnon (7 @ $6.3), Forsberg (6 @ $6) and Saad (6 @ $6).

Great deal for Calgary and I think a good omen for the Sabres. Risto has to see that: 1) Johnny Hockey backed down from his $8 million/season demand and 2) he is not nearly as good as JG nor as important to the Sabres as JG is to the Flames.

My prediction - Risto is signed by end of day Wednesday @ $5.5/season.

I feel like the Lindholm situation is just internal budget with Anaheim. As soon as they can move some salary out they can give it to lindholm. There's literally no reason not to pay him what he's asking for.

Im curious to see how long it takes WPG to find a deal for Trouba and what that means for Risto.

Somebody is gonna cave. It's the only way deals get done. I would like the 5 per that Reilly got for Risto but just think it's gonna be more.
