Major props to Konency and Provorov making the roster. I have a feeling we're going to see a lot of Provorov on the ice in the last minute of a game up by a goal. He just has that feel of a special dman.
Konency was equally impressive. Making the roster at a new position. I thought clearly he was the best option for the 2nd line LW position with his play. Its terrific to have another puck carrying winger like Voracek in the top 6.
It is going to be a fun year. - ravishingone
While I've been rooting for both players, I'm still wondering what they intend to do about adding a power forward on the wing. They seemed to get pushed around last year, and neither addition has addressed it. I get that in today's NHL, you can't waste a spot on a goon, but isn't there someone available to acquire for picks and prospects? I know the cap comes into play when acquiring another player, but look at how Ken Holland unloaded a bad contract on a team needing to get cap compliant. Maybe Hexy feels he has to wait for a deadline move to unload the salary necessary to bring in a winger like that. All that being said, I just don't see Simmons as the only power forward this team needs. Ideas??

Who did you have in mind? Did you want to get all of the power forwards that the Penguins and Black Hawks used during the last 2 Cup runs? |

Mason going to be your starting goalie? I have him on my fantasy team. Think flyers will have a strong team so pretty happy with Bishop Mason as my two goalies. |

Most likely. Neuvirth and he will split starts maybe 65-35. |

Skip the sarcasm, and put forth a reasonable response to avoid getting pushed around. If ya can't do that, then remember less is sometimes more! |

Provorov would have to whack the puck into his own net once per game to get sent down now.
One wonky skate landing and one raised shoulder have gutted the Flyers depth on D to start the season. - Feanor

Really, who did you have in mind.
And what makes you think, given the roster makeup of recent Stanley Cup winners, that having several power forward wingers is required to win?
That make you feel better? I'm really curious to hear your response, sorry I offended you so terribly with my sarcastic implications. |

Better than trying to copycat the 1973/1974 Stanley Cup winners.
Also, yes, while you don't want to copycat roster makeup, you can try to see what style of play leads to success. |

I saw McCarron got sent down by Montreal. He would be a guy I would like. Maroon would of been a nice grab.
Problem is it has to be the right guy. And it is tough to find the full pakcage of size and skill like Perry or Getzlaf. |
