The numbers they choose represent the amount of goals they will score this year.
Provorov is in discussions with the NHL to wear #895. |

Konecny was so much cooler when he wore #80 last year.

That'd be fine. I'd even be cool with giving him Kimmo's number.
But part of me wants him to say "screw it" and keep "64" and have that be his signature number. |

Really, who did you have in mind.
And what makes you think, given the roster makeup of recent Stanley Cup winners, that having several power forward wingers is required to win?
That make you feel better? I'm really curious to hear your response, sorry I offended you so terribly with my sarcastic implications. - jmatchett383
A couple of posters mentioned a few of the prototype big, fast, and skilled wingers. All I was asking for was a few ideas at how not to get pushed around this year.
I should just stick to reading these posts instead of asking some thought provoking questions. It would be nice though to see if the wise a** es here who make the sarcastic remarks would show up at a live forum to back them up.
As for the Pens cup last year, they had two ingredients besides Crosby and Malkin, and they were depth and speed. Glad to see Hexy working on that! |

Who are these big, fast, skilled wingers, and how do you propose we acquire them? I must have missed the ones mentioned besides Benn, who is pretty much untouchable.
What live forum are we all having? I wasn't aware that I was invited to one.
And yes, the Penguins are gifted with 2 incredibly talented players. The Flyers don't have 2 players like them, but they are building a team geared toward the same speed/skill system. |

So there's this guy Walt , who's a teacher. And he meets his former student Harry, and decides to start making meth with him. And there's a dude named Sal. |

I recall MJL and a few other regulars here telling me several times in the roughly last calendar year there's essentially no way Konecny and Provorov would both make the team this year (which I stated adamantly on numerous occasions). Most knew Provorov had a good shot, but I was also consistently told that Konecny in particular would likely not even be ready for a top-9 role, let alone a top 6 role where he's best suited.
Something about them being "too green" and "inexperienced" in a league where most 30 year old's can't even find work.
Not usually an "I told you so" kind of guy, but I (frank)ing told ya so. |

Some would call them thought provoking questions, others would see that this is the deepest prospect pool the Flyers have ever had

One thing that was overlooked is that these 2 guys both smell like a lawnmower and make love like a jackhammer.
In truth, they were both huge longshots to make the team this season. Huge props to them for making the jump. |
