I did not enjoy watching that mess last night.
But, it's one game of 82 and I don't let these things dictate how I feel on a day to day basis. - HonkFortheGoose
Goose.... The attitude comes from this... watching them lose I can tolerate but it is the lack of an ALL OUT effort on opening night... Now that pisses me off.... Injuries do not keep a team from playing hard for 60 minutes... |

Too much bridge jumping commentary after 1 game. Injuries are part of life in the NHL. Depth at all positions is important. A number of players were released from their PTO's, gotta think Murray will need to get somebody. Or they wait till after the Amerks opener tonight and re-call someone for the western trip. - mhp
There was too much bridge commentary before the game even happened. I can't imagine today will be much better. I may have to just go back to posting pics of Eeyore, since that's the attitude a good majority of people have had around here the last two days.
I'm not too optimistic about this Kane thing though. It looked bad and we managed to get off a bit on the easy side in terms of Eichel's injury so I don't have a ton of faith that this will work out the same way. |

You know Goose... I guess I am in a "SHOW ME" status with the Sabres..... I just don't want to HEAR how good they can be or they are good... I want to see it on the ice.. Sure it is 1 game and I am not an idiot I do realize there are 82 games..... So we now know they have a built in excuse for at least 6 weeks due to injuries.. After that we will SEE I guess... |

Sadly Kane got hurt because it appeared he was sick of the Bullpoop play and tried to make something happen. |

I want them to be good just as much as everyone else and I totally get what you're saying. Unfortunately injuries are a part of the game. I'm just hoping they can tread water until they get Jack back. They'll need to be MUCH better than they were last night for that to happen though. |

Whatever it is that he hurt, he looked like he was in a ridiculous amount of pain. |

Exactly Goose..... If they lose all I ask for is effort in losing... I watch them to be entertained... Basically |

I hate to say this but with a collision with that much impact... He may be dealing with several injuries not just one... |

He got hurt because Emelin is a garbage, dirty player but nobody talks about that because he plays for the habs. |

Nope. All that's been said is that after getting him into the locker room he was put on a stretcher and taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons.
I initially thought either shoulder or broken arm, but looking at it again, I wouldn't be surprised if it's a broken clavicle. |

I'm gonna stop you right there.
Franson - Depth Dman, 1 year left. Has lost all value since Toronto.
Nelson - Still an NHL prospect best served in Rochester.
Gorges - Brought in to lead this team out of the darkness. Playing with Risto is WAY above his level and everyone knows it.
Deslauriers - Perfectly fine checking line forward.
Grant - Cheapo free agent signing, quality depth player.
Gionta - See Gorges, fine for 3rd line.
Moulson - Regressed more than expected, bad contract here. I'll give you this one.
Nilsson - Perfectly capable backup goalie (small sample size in preseason)
Larsson/Foligno - Great checking line players, don't put them in top 6 and you're fine. They were our most consistent line in the 2nd half of last year.
Lehner - Probably be fine if we actually had a defense.
Kane - Risky, but fine.
Bogo - Risky due to being prone to injury, but a quality 2nd line D.
Let's try to keep it real, chiquorin. - TheSabresTaco
I see a lot of "fine" or "capable" and little "good" or "really good"
The Kane trade is a nightmare. Plain and simple.
His free agents have been awful. Plain and simple.

Ya Emelin had some dirty hits during the game....but the Kane incident wasn't one of them...they just got tangled up going into the boards |

It wasn't. It was Kane flying around at 1000 MPH, like always, which is great until he inevitably puts himself in a bad spot. |

You know watching it again also... They actually grabbed him under his arm pretty forcefully while picking him up... This injury definitely seems to be more located internally. I can't imagine they would lift him under his arm so hard if it was a collar bone or arm thing... He kept bent over like he had abdominal pain... |

So does this statement apply to what Connor McDavid does game in and game out too? Because he literally did the exact same thing last year which led to his clavicle injury.
Guys with that much speed are always going to be more vulnerable IMO. Sometimes your biggest asset can also be your biggest downfall. |

just take them out and get him back out there..
that would make since. i guess since he walked off it would be a back issue. it could also be a bruised ass |
