He got moved for another nhl player. At the time his value was really high. I dont disagree with you that they should have waited but its not because saad was available later its because their haste led them to taking back a worse contract than they gave up in that WPG deal.

Maybe, we'll never really know. Assets given up doesnt bother me nearly as much as the dead cap thats still on this team years after the tank. That's just unacceptable

The ehrhoff and leinho buyouts were compliance deals so technically not on the books. You're right they cant hang on to too much but if there was one more to do it on itd be moulson...or maybe gorges.

Yeah I'm going to have to agree with you on Moulson. And to make matters worse he's the lone Sabre who won't get hurt for even one game. He never puts himself in a position where he could get hurt. EVER. He's set for life financially and well into his 30's. Why would he?


All this being said I thought signing him was a good idea at the time. Didn't think he was worth that much money but whatever.
