No suspension for Andrew Shaw but Senior VP of Player Safety Stephane Quintal wants to meet with him. An 'educational' meeting, says Shaw.

- Stripes77

He should have been suspended ... there was no reason for that cheap shot.

Habs management also needs to slap him behind the head ... we picked him up to provide energy, not to become another Sean Avery.

This educational meeting is a joke.

I agree he should be suspended.

Rakell 6 yrs 22.8 mill with the Ducks
- SABRES 89

They're ripe for an offersheet to Lindholm
They have like zero Cap space right now

I'd definitely go after Lindholm
Up to 7.5mil & we only give up a 1st, 2nd & 3rd
We could prob get him for something like 6.5m though

We don't have that type of cap space though. Only way to get Lindholm is via trade, and the ducks don't have much space to take on a player that we would need to move (Ennis, Moulson, or such).

I'm undecided on Bylsma. Last year was his first with the team, so I get iti to some degree. But he tends to rely on his veterans which normally isn't bad...but when he leans on the over-the-hill vets...it became a problem.
I'll watch this team progress forward and evaluate later when the real team is together, but I do have serious questions about him and his system going forward.

- IonSabres

Is it that he's relying on his vets...
Or just that he's trying not to overwhelm the kids?
I think he doesn't wanna overload the young guys with too much responsibility or pressure too soon
He already said he wants to dial back Risto's Icetime from what he had last year be it seemed to wear on him towards the end of the season

This is the last year for Gionta & Franson
And they probably try to move on from Moulson after this season
Gorges could be gone too

So there's going to be quite the shift happening over the next season or 2

Actually, we do have the Cap space
Eichel can go on LTIR
And we can just dump a player like Franson or Gorges if we have to

Agree
Even if it was just 1 game
That's a dangerous play & the League needs to send the message that it won't be tolerated

Shaw plays on the edge though
He's the kinda guy u like on your team till he does something dumb
Just gotta hope those instances don't occur to often

Lindholm would easily slot in on the top pair
He'd be the best defenseman on our team

Eichel to LTIR is only a short term fix, and us having to move out a player means we don't have to space to give him an offer sheet.

We move out the player-make the offer sheet-ducks make us wait a week-ducks make a trade-ducks match.

He would be the best defenseman on the team, and giving up a 1,2, and 3 for a number one dman is definitely worth it but it won't happen

Putting Eichel on LTIR gives us the space to see if they match or not
If they don't, then we can dump Franson or Gorges
We can certainly make it work

Since they have zero Cap space,
If they did want to match they'd only have a week to make TWO trades to free up 6mil or more in Cap space
That's gonna be tough for them to do, although possible
And they won't get much return since teams know they're desperate
