Lindholm and Risto would be to Buffalo what Seabrook and Keith are to Chicago.
The big difference however is neither of Risto or Lindholm would be Norris candidates but their importance would be just as big.
That would be your top pairing for the next 6-8 years.
Nylander is talented but he has ways to go obviously before he is riding on the wing with Eichel and Reinhart (or O'Reilly and Okposo).
If the Sabres were healthy and I thought this year or next year they could be competing for the cup I would do Nylander for Lindholm all day. At the point they are now, I would still probably do it but it would create issues in the cap down the road.

Yeah I'm gonna go there the bills need to dump Taylor after this year
His 150 yards passing can Be replaced - GERBE!!!75PTS
250 total yards of offense and 2 TD's...
He isn't putting up gaudy numbers but the plays he made yesterday wouldn't have gotten made by another QB not named Wilson or Newton. The 49ers were in the backfield a ton yesterday.
The Bills WRs are garbage, Tyrod's accuracy is not where it needs to be but I don't see a Bills win yesterday without Tyrod.

I did not mean to start a Nylander for Lindholm thing, by the way. Just saying I would totally give him up in a trade for him.
Not meant toward you, I just wanted to clarify this.

I would still make the trade as well, just looking down the road it gets me thinking a little bit more since the Sabres aren't in position to compete for the Cup this year or next.
Did I really just back read people saying we're overvaluing Lindholm ? And that nylander + is too much? I respect all opinions and value all input, even when it comes to the mess that is American politics but in this case I'm telling you you're dead wrong. lol - Sabresfan-365
I like your qualifier haha
Lindholm is the obviously choice over Fowler, and cost of the trade aside, Fowler is going to be due a new contract after next season, and certainly will not be the $4M he is currently earning.
Is there anybody that wants to pay him the $6M+ he is going to want and maybe even get, long term? No thank you.
It would definitely hurt losing Nylander but the benefit of Lindholm is massive, and the team already has 4 of their top 6 locked in.
If need be, you can fill in the other 2 with either cheap young guys and or cheap vets, like Pirri for example.
Yesterday was one of the best sports days I have had in a while. Big wins by the Bills and Sabres. If the Jays win tonight it will be a solid 2 days.
Regarding the Sabres, they were hitting on all cylinders. Plus Talbot was brutal. While the big guys for the Sabres were producing (ROR, OK, Risto), I thought one of our unsung heroes last night was Larsson. I noticed that he played over 20 minutes. That must be his highest yet as a Sabre. Anyway, for whatever reason the Larsson, Gionta and Foligno line seems to work. As somebody else pointed out, if we can get Ennis working on the second line, then we might be in decent shape once Eichel and Kane come back.

That's Great lets pay a guy 100 million for his game managing absolutely ridiculous once the run is not working that day we're gonna have to trust his arm
And I can't believe people are defending him reason why he has over 100 yards because he throws one bomb each game
Okposo, O'Reilly, and Ristolainen were very good. Reinhart was solid.
Oilers were a disaster though. Especially Talbot. That Molson goal and the center ice goal were awful.
And holy moly, they traded Hall for Larsson.
Murray>Chiarelli - sbroads24
The job the team did on McDavid was shocking to me, and impressive.
The Hall for Larsson trade seemed like a trade for the sake of making a change to supposedly shake up the team at the time of the move, and it seems even more so now.
How soon before they hate having the Lucic contract on their cap?

Wait, why is Fowler getting 6M next year? From everything I hear he's good, not great, and a 2nd pairing guy. Unless you were saying Lindholm is going to get the 6M later on which I could agree with I guess but that'd be down the road.

Only in Buffalo do we have fans that want to get rid of a QB that can actually play the game, oh he only throws for 179 yrd... How many QB's have we tried in the last 25 years that had NO clue..... now when we get one that has a clue we want to dump him.
He threw for a 179 yrd and we don't have anyone to throw too. I could care less if he throws for 50 yrds just win, now we aren't winning the right way????? Unbelievable.
