ya - seriously... the whining about the goaltending.... seriously Jets made mistakes in the early part of the game.. and the Leafs made mistakes at the end.

there huge upside to this types of games - the players who are exposed as week probably are...

but seriously blaming Andersen for this one... is just ridiculous - but by all means drive yourselves insane complaining about this.

Pretty much 2-1(1-0-2)

A well deserved point but also a well deserved loss.

Let's get a win in Minny tmro

Matthews was fine, Laine was good. Neither are the story. Our team completely entirely fell flat on their face in the third. Laich and Prust will be welcome additions for this very reason. We need vets that can stop momentum.

Michalek, Bozak, JVR were all useless and they are veterans

I'm just glad I'm at the point where stuff like this is hilarious rather than frustrating. We all knew they'd probably be poop this year. Fun to watch though.

This.

Going to be a frustrating tease of a year watching flashes of brilliance in spectacular losses.

I agree with this too. I'm hope Lou will soon realize that this D core is garbage and do something about it
- WingmanWillie

It's quite simple. The defense is the problem. We're averaging 4GPG. Andersen played bad in Ottawa but I thought he was good tonight actually. We have 2 quality defensemen in Rielly and Zaitsev. I jinxed myself with Gards at the beginning of the game, he chased the game a lot tonight. Carrick is probably our #3.

Just filthy skills on the kid. Wish his linemates had some
- WingmanWillie

That pass was meh that ended up on Bozaks stick by luck....and he had no where to go with it. IMO

He looked ok tonight except that terrible penalty

Aetherial next time I will watch the game with you and I'll report to HockeyBuzz when you step away

It's the only way to be sure

That ok? Beer is on you (thanks!)

- twiztedmike

We need a "watching yes or no" flag, clearly.

I think I have a couple bottles of Labatt's 50 in the basement somewhere from the 70's should still be yummy, as long as there is no mouse a bottle.

Cue up the old trouba rumours

The D needs help for sure. Not sure Trouba is the answer, but he can't hurt

Sometime it would be nice to watch a Leaf goaltender actually play big and win a game...or not..
- Fruitcakenipple

I don't know.. I kinda like the Leafs not being demoralized 3-4 minutes into the game beacuse the sieve gives up a soft goal... and if you actually watched the game you'd know that Andersen made 2-3 saves that looked like sure goals in the the late first and early 2nd.

The leafs didn't even play bad in the final 20.

Marincin was soft in front of the net against a guy with a lethal shot.

bad bounce off of marner on the next

Then a stupid penalty.

None the less these guys need to learn how to hold a lead.

get Polak in there as a 5-6. Keep Hunwick as #7

Bye Marincin, (trade Gardiner for another #4), add another #5-6 dman

Andersen was pretty solid from what I saw. I didn't see the 3rd, reviews here seemed mixed.

It would be nice to see a goalie bail us out instead of HOPING we get NHL caliber goaltending every night.

But you are absolutely right, our D is a train wreck.

PS At least it's not Game 7 of a playoff series, some of you guys act like you've never seen a 4-1 lead get blown before.

Throw a boatload at ANA for Lindholm. Take a crap contract. Send JVR/Leipsic/D prospect and a high pick.

Marincin is absolute trash.

I don't like Hunwick. But he's been surprisingly quiet so far...he's fine as a. #6 for now
