It's quite simple. The defense is the problem. We're averaging 4GPG. Andersen played bad in Ottawa but I thought he was good tonight actually. We have 2 quality defensemen in Rielly and Zaitsev. I jinxed myself with Gards at the beginning of the game, he chased the game a lot tonight. Carrick is probably our #3.

exactly... that's why moving Gardiner for an upgrade makes sense - he seems to be having trouble with the speed of the decision making.... yup the old hockey sense thingy coming back to haunt him.

Yes

Andersen was pretty solid from what I saw. I didn't see the 3rd, reviews here seemed mixed.

It would be nice to see a goalie bail us out instead of HOPING we get NHL caliber goaltending every night.

But you are absolutely right, our D is a train wreck.

I just rewatched it and with 1:18 left Buff totally slew foots Rielly in the corner and the refs staring at them....Rielly lands on his head, pretty pathetic with the no call. IMO

Chicago and Carolina blew huge leads so far this season just off the top of my head. Is been happening a lot this season. And tbh I'm not liking the high scoring games so far this NHL season. I like watching structered hockey not this 7-4 and 6-5 bs.

Moving Gardiner is A-(frank)ing-okay with me, but we have to remember to be patient. We aren't supposed to win the cup this year but make progress with the rookies. In 50 games from now I want to see us with an early 4-0 lead and come out and win 5-1. That's what I want to see. Progress.
