Yup he looked good. I was actually kind of excited that maybe I was wrong and maybe we would have solid goaltending. I am not asking for Carey Price, just a solid NHL goalie.

but saying 2 good periods makes up for one shaky one is wrong. A team needs a goalie for the whole game. Saying he let in only a couple softies, for the second time in 3 games, is not an argument in his favour.

Absolutely. When are people going to learn-not every goalie sucks that the Leafs have had. The defense has been terrible for over a decade, probably at its worst the past couple years.

this is what its like to have a young team... they will finish bottom 10... like i have been saying all along... those goals are not on the goalie... not even close.

did you not see some of the stops he made last night? that game would have been well out of hand by the 3rd if it weren't for him making highlight reel saves.

People are making excuses for him. The same way they did for Bernier and he has sucked. That's a fact. Your own, and others' arguments (only 2 bad goals, only one bad period) support the fact that he sucks.

Anyway, I am done with Andersen today. Yesterday was no fun for Toronto sports fans, and I am not helping right now.

I didn't say that. In fact I didn't see any last night.... 2 cross crease 1timers and 3 bar down rockets.

I don't see where he was weak. This Are very difficult shots to stop. They weren't soft. This wasn't bernier 1st shot softies from behind the net or from other side of the redline.

It is truly horrible.

Rielly is probably an average #2, not a true #1 yet.
Zaitsev is hit and miss, but he is a rookie and he is already our second best.
Carrick could be a Ryan Ellis type, or an Ian White type?
Gardiner is a train wreck in his own end a couple times every period

The others are all throw aways, and in fact a couple were throw aways on bad teams.

I watched it and agree that the D played like poop and gave no help. That Gardiner pinch pissed me right off. But great goaltenders stop impossible pucks. Its happens regularly.

I'm not blaming this loss on Andersen. It was a team (and yes, mostly D) collapse but it'd be nice to see a good goalie steal a game for us. We haven't had a goalie capable of doing that for years and if you sign a guy for 5 years you better hope he can. And i think he can. Just getting off to a slow start

THe two things that should bother you folks are ..

1. Andersen....the tying goal.....he was soooooo far out of position, when the pick gets to Ehlers theres FOUR Jets to his right...he comes THAT far out to his left??? WTF is he thinking there??

2. say what you will about me saying this..but watch the replay..Matthews makes NO EFFORT to catch Laine on the OT goal....when he goes by the net on his breakaway and turns he SEES that that's Laine and knows its 3 on 3...ZERO effort...he literally SLOWS DOWN...I'm sure hoping to get another chance to go the other way...thats two OT games that you lost because he has no interest in getting back. The bright lights are already ruining that kid

3 games in and we have "Andersen haters" and "Andersen apologists." Fantastic. Glad nobody can have an opinion on a goalie without "hater" or "apologist" attached.
