I just watched the goal again and Matthews looked pretty tired at the end of that breakaway; I don't expect him to catch Laine, do you?

And given that Matthews has shown a propensity for backchecking in every game, tournament, and league he's played in recently, I would suspect that he felt (and quite rightly) that he had no chance of catching up to him.

So besides trying to rub salt in the wound, what exactly are you doing here?

I don't love Polak's game, but another veteran presence on the backend besides Hunwick (who's been pretty terrible) and someone who's willing to get in the lane and block shots, might've saved a goal.

They had a lot of looks from the point; quite a lot of shots got through despite the number of blocks on the game (27).

Big bodies over in the 'Peg though. I like that team's core; could be a sleeper for the playoffs this year.

No one said our d was stellar......our best dman has been carrick. Rielly has been pretty meh, Imo he's getting overwhelmed playing the tough mins trying to carry marincin around. I think it's time to move zietzev up and give Rielly some more help.
