Three games in folks. If, and it was always a huge IF this year, the Leafs were going to sneak into the playoffs it wasn't going to be on the backs of their play in October and November.

This team will only continue to get better. Worrying and crying about their play now is pointless. We all knew there's still improvements to be made and areas to focus on with more talent coming into the year. Nothing's changed, except the Leafs already have 4 out of a possible 6 points.

That's pretty damn good if you ask me.

Babcock said in the presser that they were dangerous offensively, but not good defensively; they were getting hemmed in a lot, mostly because big body Jets taking away the wall.

The whole team has looked really young for stretches so far this season, but this is all teachable stuff. This isn't like prior years where we had nothing to work with: this is just a team full of rookies with growing pains.

Some thoughts about last night...

I loved and hated the 4-0 lead...knew what was coming lol

Gardiner has no brains, pinches like a dummy and that starts the goal parade

Marincin is slow and will get burned all year

Freddy needs to make a big save here and there....the 5 goals are inexcusable

Matthews should have deked instead of shot in OT , he would have scored imho

Marner needs to be careful blocking shots, love the courage but we cant lose him right now...

Marner and Nylander and Matthews continue to impress , and thats a big positive

Kadri stepped up his game last 2 nights

Bottom line, we are young and have a weak defensive skillset and mindset ....throw in some shaky goaltending and we will be blowing leads all year....
