Maybe they should flip Komarov and Hymen. Might help out that line. Although I really Hymen's work ethic.
- LeafMan

and give Kadri JVR on his line. Gotta give him someone with some talent to work with.

Bozak and Michalek should be on the third line.

Agreed, thats why I didnt understand when they were out there with the second or third pairing defence at some points. They need better defence out there with that line.

The other thing to note on this loss that I think hasn't been mentioned much is that Babcock rolled 4 lines(minus the last couple minutes), and Winepeg shortened their bench. Could have changed the outcome if he was truly coaching for wins IMO. It's clearly more about learning right now then winning.

yeah. seemed like buff didn't leave the ice for the 3rd.

idk, but i'm not sure buff can play 27 minutes a night for 82 games without slowing down. leafs play tonight...rolling lines was probably fine when you're holding a lead.

it's a long season.

Sure...if you're gonna run, may as well gun.

I like that Kadri line...could be pretty exciting.

They're both the engines that drive the line (not taking away from Kadri), so not sure if that would do anything, other than give them more experience on the kid's line.

That was such an epic win for the Jets to jump up and get Laine. Have him in my keeper pool so that was the only redeeming thing about last night's loss.

And HOLY crap his shot is amazing. The Ovie comparisons are legit.

Yeah – looks like both teams got star players.

And hopefully the nucks picked a bust after dropping to #5

We have a nice future with Matthews, Nylander and Marner

Would LOVE to start dumping some of the veteran twits that don't give a good enough effort but that would expose our young guns to a lot of pressure and tougher competition, more minutes & I fear that might ruin them

So, unfortunately we have to keep these guys around. I would like to see the Leafs maybe free up a few extra minutes for Matthews by trading Bozak or Kadri (so far, its looking like Bozak)

I;m not really a Bozak hater - I think he's great but the Leafs need to open up minutes up the middle.

Alternatively, they can let Holland go but in terms of asset management and value, I think they'd get more in a trade for Bozak and I think Holland is underrated.

Dumping Michalek to a team like FLA could help too

To put things into perspective, if I was to tell you the following back in the dog days of August, what would you think?

4 of a possible 6 points with no regulation losses;
Matthews 5 points in 3 games;
Nylander 4 points in 3 games;
Marner 2 points in 3 games;
Rielly with a 3-game point streak, longest in his career so far;
all rookie skaters with at least a point, and a whole lot of them playing too;
Zaitsev looking exactly as advertised, NHL-ready.

I'm guessing a couple Stanley Cup predictions and the planning of a parade route.

All I want is to have a good sports team in my city
- twiztedmike

Three final four appearances (2 x Jays, 1x Raptors) over the past year in a bit means we do have good sports team in our city.
