I think they're past that point dude. They made the playoffs last season, and have only four guys (luongo, jagr, Mackenzie and jussi) over 30. They won't be moving Luongo, and they won't be adding bodies unless it helps them with playoff depth.

1) you know you are going into a season with 4-5 rookies
2) you know you have new goalie who's going to have to learn a new system
3) you know the upside of guys like Marincin and in particular Hunwick
4) why not go with guys who are close to see how they do in the first few games - would it really hurt to have given Nielsen and Valiev as shot?

I think those two guys need to be playing 20 plus minutes a night and will learn more away from the spotlight. But around the 40 game mark or 50, or even next year, you might see them.
