What if this is exactly what we're seeing when we watch the games?
- burn

Gardiner pinched a lot last night, and I get why. In the NHL, things like that happen. What I don't like is that he gets beat and stops moving. That is what he needs to fix.

In that infamous Boston series, he turned over the puck a lot, but skated hard and got it back.

This is why I love Marner, he loses the puck, but does everything in his power to get it back. That's the difference between a whipping boy, and a hockey player we end up loving.

That's exactly what a 21/22 yo is supposed to be doing at the NHL level. YOU JERK!

He's exactly what he was projected to be. A liability at 5vs5 and a huge danger on the PP. Throws big hits around every now and then.

Means nothing! Quality of competition! Turnovers! No hockey IQ!

Obviously it doesn't have a lot of meaning...Gardiner's the one giving up the high scoring chances and look at his pretty graph...hilarious.

So, what you're saying is at 21/22 he's already met expectations, and that means if he's like any other hockey player on the planet playing d, he will continue to get better by age 25/26. Seems like that's doing fine to me.

Though, I concede Dion Phaneuf, the opposite was true.

what if there is stuff happening that you are not seeing or processing.
thousands of things happen in a game..I dont think anyone can see it and register it all to memory game after game.

sometimes things start to show when you have lots of data points to work with..no Brain can do that.

when stuff doesn't agree with what my eyes see, I dont automatically assume its wrong.

There's a reason Bab's sat him down...just watch him play....not doing much to help out offensively then gives up breakaways....you only score on 10% of your shots...so gifting goals is not ideal. I believe there's some usefulness in the graph...but it's not a tell tale sign....who's out there when the pucks going in the net last night??? Not the guys everybody is crappying on.... Guys are funny in here..if that was Polak last night...guys would have been chirping about how bad he is...but when the darlings are being beaten like rented mules...*crickets*
