It could be this young generation of kids wants everything perfect now and wants to win now and if you lose it's the worst thing in their life. Social media is a huge contributor to it.
I'm 57 and have lived through every Sabres season in their history. I look at things with this team more realistically and would prefer to take the glass half full mentality. People were jumping off bridges after the Montreal game, crazy. If they can hover around .500 when Eichel and Kane come back, it could be a great second half. - mhp
I am forcing myself to be optimistic about the Sabres, despite the Eichel punch in the gut. I'm enjoying just watching the games more, rather than being so overly critical. Although I understand why we all do that...we care and get frustrated that there's nothing we can do to help them win.

I got sick of the 'Ralph Wilson' Bills of the past. Should I hop back on now or wait it out?
Eichel was a true punch tho the fan psyche, no question. Take these things one game at a time. They played 3 games in 5 nights on the west and thought they graded out decent. A few bounces and better officitaing in Calgary and it could look a lot better.

I think we will be OK in the end, although I do think we need a little more tinkering from Murray...particularly on defense.
Can't wait to see 15 and 23 flying around together again though. They were looking like one hell of a combo late last year.

I think we need to get the lines better
seems the top line and the foligno, larsson and gionta line are fine
they really need to find that 3rd line with chemistry from the other 8 scrubs - homiedclown
TRADE THEM ALL THEY'RE ALL BUMS WE STINK FIRE FOUR EYED DAN AND DWIGHT SCHRUTE. WE WILL NEVER AMOUNT TO ANYTHING THIS TOWN IS CURSED BOGO AND KANE SUCK GIVE ME ARMIA TO THE DEATH.
While there is 0 doubt we would be better with Eichel, this team was dead last in possession after 3 games.
And we faced the powerhouse Flames, Oilers and Montreal.
Right now this is a 1 line, 2 defensemen team. Adding Eichel won't be enough. They need guys like 63,28,22,47, and a few others to play like it's the regular season. - sbroads24
This is my point though. This team is still pretty bad 5v5 even with a healthy lineup so if they want a shot at the playoffs they have to take advantage of schedule imbalances like this one at the start. Where the talent is enough to overcome the bad 5v5 numbers. If they had a full lineup from the beginning they'd probably be looking at 6 or 7 points.

The problem with scrubs is even when there is chemistry...they still suck. Ditch the dead weight and add some players who can contribute at even strength and they'll be good to go. Its actually not a difficult task for a GM except the players TM would have to ditch he likes too much.

I attended the game last night in person. I thought the Sabres had the better of the Canucks. Overall, it was a good effort and a good road game. As I said earlier, they certainly missed Eichel and Kane's skill and speed. But injuries happen so you have to move on.
I am 51 and have been a fan of the Sabres since the 73/74 season. Like yourself, I have been with them through thick and thin. Personally I will support them no matter how good or bad things are with the team. That's just my DNA.

Go Sabres Go - SabreWest
I read your post after the game last night and thought you were spot on. Like you, we will follow this team until the day we leave this earth and will always root for the blue and gold.
Some don't want to believe it but good things are coming.
