I read your post after the game last night and thought you were spot on. Like you, we will follow this team until the day we leave this earth and will always root for the blue and gold.

I guess it's easy for some that come on here that hate most of the players and like to b!tch about this trade or that trade or Bogo sucks or Foligno blows. Step back and realize we are missing two huge pieces of our team. If you didn't know the final score you would have thought we lost 8-1 by the collection of comments last night.
Like I said, when people are negative they show up. When things go well they run and hide. - mhp
You see these excuses are getting old when other teams are losing their franchise star players and they still dominate The next Guy steps up what about our team ?

This is my point though. This team is still pretty bad 5v5 even with a healthy lineup so if they want a shot at the playoffs they have to take advantage of schedule imbalances like this one at the start. Where the talent is enough to overcome the bad 5v5 numbers. If they had a full lineup from the beginning they'd probably be looking at 6 or 7 points. - Sabresfan-365
In 4 games we have 0 goals from the back end. 1 from Girgensons, Foligno, Baptitste.
That's awful secondary scoring.
Move Reinhart down a line. Make at least 2 lines a threat to score

We lost 2 - cabin
You mean 3 ? Teams like Calgary and Vancouver you're supposed to dominate if this team is struggling against those what's it gonna look against elite teams
I'm just getting sick of everyone saying when Jack comes back etc what happens if he doesn't come back ? Everyone in the NHL deals with these kinds of injuries And yet they still dominate we on the other hand don't
I would go
ennis, girgens, baptiste
moulson/deslaurers, grant, fasching
it serves baptise and fasching no good to be in the presser, should just call up COR if that is the case - homiedclown
If leaving one of those 7 out, it needs to be Deslauriers. The other 3 are "young" and could use some NHL time (Grant, Fasching, Baptiste).
I think Moulson has shown he has a bit of his game back, his goals aren't just gross flukes or anything - they were skilled shots off good passes, so he needs to be on the more scoring line of those bottom 6 you've laid out. Girgensons with him (for now) wouldn't be a bad thing due to past chemistry and a (hopeful) turnaround starting from Girgensons right now.
Who the 3rd should be on that line is tough...I'd lean towards Fasching for his forechecking, because I also think Ennis and Baptiste would be detriments to this line since they'd be too fast for Moulson (and yes, apparently Girgensons is fast too).

You've said this multiple times now yet never cite a reference...

lehner is getting a pass from most
I thought he stunk in 2 of the 4 games and looked uncomfortable last night (non stunk game)

2 players .
Your being too judgmental about the team 4 games in. West coast road trip, etc. You are young , Get used to things not being all unicorns and rainbows all the time . Wait till you have to pay taxes.

awful secondary scoring despite you listing 3 players with goals (3 games into the season)? Not sure what the statistics are, but I wouldn't think "secondary scoring" should average much more than 1 per game (1.5 over the course of the year maybe?)
Edit: sorry, 4 games in...already losing track of games somehow

what about going this way
ennis, girgens, baptiste on the 3rd line
moulson, grant, fasching on the 4th line
ennis, girgens, baptiste on the 3rd line
moulson, grant, fasching on the 4th line
give moulson pp time for his "skill" - homiedclown
Part of it is I've lost faith in Ennis...I know it's contradictory to my own mantra of "it's just a few games into the season!!", but from what I found lackluster last year and then a poor preseason and looking bad this season, I'd just rather be rid/bury him.

first line, 2 goals even strength in 4 games
second line (foligno, larsson, gionta) 3 goals even strength in 4 games
the basket of deplorable lines combined 1 goal in 4 games 5 on 5
first line needs to step up 5 on 5 as well as the 3rd and 4th lines
