He was a special player. He was very much like Vanek in a way. An über talented offensive player, but didn't much care for backchecking. Both Miro and Vanek never failed to score at least 20 goals in every season with the Sabres(Miro only scored 8 his first season here, but that was in only 12 games, and he ended up with 25 for the season) Had a 40 goal year and a couple 30 goal years. 10 straight 20 goal seasons. Won a cup with the Pens. Except Miro had deceptive speed whereas Vanek well... didn't. But Miro rubbed a lot of people the wrong way at the end of his stay here. And that kind of tainted his legacy(10th in points 7th in goals in team history). Another player we got from the Oilers for a song, Miro for Craig Millar and Barrie Moore, who? Hecht being the other that we've been talking about. We paid a little more for him, 2 2nds(some goalie who played 62 NHL games and was pretty awful, and Jarrett Stoll, who I guess is ok, but I'd rather have Hecht every time.

he was the only goal scorer on the sabres and still got it done year in and year out

yeah he floated a bit in the end, but he was a beast among boys on most of those sabre teams

Those Leafs sure look good junior. Giving up a 4 goal lead followed by a 2 goal lead in in 2 out of 3 games and losing all 3 games...junior you're not ready.

They will be good. They just need to fix the blue line. If they're not careful they could be the Oilers of the east.

Spot-on description of Satan. I always liked him, and he was a tremendous find.

Rob Ray HATES him. It's hilarious if you've ever heard him rant about it. He says "I've never seen a guy's eyes get so wide when the other team pulled their goalie."

I am officially disheartened. I watched a ton of hockey this week and its time to admit the "rebuild" is a colossal failure. Matthews looks GREAT, Laine looks GREAT, Ekblad already one of the best defemseman in the league, Gaudreau...fantastic....Nylander on the Leafs, Marner....Schefle on the Jets....all these AMAZING players....the two guys WE got for suffering??? NOTHING......I wanted to love this team so badly. Its a bust. Vesey has 3 goals ...#2 overall Reinhart that we "suffered for"...nothing but a turnover to LOSE a game. The goalie is terrible. McDavid FIVE TIMEs the player the OTHER #2 we "suffered" for. one..ONE NHL quality defenseman who is a #3 at best. Girgensons BUST....Ennis....useless.

Vanek has seven points. Eichel and Reinhart combined...2. Toronto fans calling him Jack ECHL....I'm starting to agree with them

They have talent but until they fix the blue line they're just going to be an offensively fun team to watch that loses a lot of 5-4 games. If you can't see that you're even more special than your avatar.
