Lindback is having visa issues (albeit a short term problem) but their depth at goal sucks. Getting something for Mase now before his contract expires would be a good thing. - section32
Sure, but the Kings aren't going to give what the Flyers would want, and what the Kings would give, the Flyers don't want/need. |

They have NO GOOD GOALTENDER. Lindback is in Ontario at their minor league team on a tryout. Quick is done for the season. Their back up is injured. TRAINWRECK in the making 7 games into the season. They need help before the hole gets any deeper. I think we have an opportunity to get a little more than one might think. They are gonna get desperate real quick. |

So, Neuwirth is likely gone at seasons end then. - section32
Most likely, unless he bottoms out and signs cheap. |

He was a 30 point pace player like last two years, just like Read and Raffl. Hell, that could be our 3rd line right there if they move Raffl to the middle. And the Flyers really needed to improve their size and skating.
$2.35m for a ~30 point 3rd liner who can also contribute on PP2 seems fine to me. - Feanor
Not a fan of Raffl at center, I'm not so sure it comes naturally and I don't think he has the skill sets but watching Jordan Staal last Saturday, I couldn't help but be reminded of Michael Handzus and Keith Primeau. If Staal wasn't so damn over priced, I think a guy like him could really plug a hole here. I can't think of anyone better for the Flyers right now.
I just think Bellemare, Cousins or Raffl at third line center is more experimenting. |

Fine. Mason and AMac for Muzzin, Toffoli, and a 1st. LA says no. Phone hangs up.
Mason is the first legit #1 goalie the Flyers have had since Roman Cechmanek. He's been among the league leaders in 5v5 Save% since he became a Flyer. They finally have stability at that position. I'm not giving him up for rental parts because some teams says please. |

By what measure? He'll be back on the 3rd line tomorrow.

Read spent plenty of time with Coots the past two years, and Raffl spent a lot of time with G and Jake. They didn't score 30 points strictly playing with other 3rd liners, either. - Feanor
Is Schenn a better player than Couturier? He scores as much or more. It's the same logic. A comparable scorer does not equal a comparable player.
Read and Raffl see tougher usage (prior to last year Read saw among the toughest minutes in the entire NHL with Coots and scrub linemate X) and have performed far better as possession players. Like not even close. You cannot seriously tell me Weise is a better overall hockey player than Raffl or Read. By what measure? |

Exactly what I was gonna say. Likely a TDL candidate, depending on how Lyon fairs this season in the AHL. |

Yup there is no good 3C on this roster - BiggE
People keep saying this, but Cousins did well in his 30 games last year. He could be the ONLY respectable 3C on this roster, if he'd only get a chance this season. I just take issue with the idea there there's simply nothing to be done, and PEB is as good an option as any for 3rd line center. He's not and doesn't have to be. |

They can place him on LTIR retroactively, if they need to at a later point.

that was also a deep team offensively. Briere, Carter, Gagne, Giroux, Hartnell, Richards and JVR. that's pretty solid. Pronger, Timonen, Carle and Coburn was a very good top 4. the bottom 2 was a hot mess of course. |

It's pretty bad when you realize that Jaroslav Modry ca. 2008 would have been an upgrade on that bottom pair...I think.
But yeah, that was a very deep team. Don't forget Leino as well, plus 2 top PKers in Lappy and Betts. |

I think he will be. The expansion draft will be tricky, as they'll have to protect a goalie signed past this year, which means you expose Stolarz or have a handshake deal to sign with Mason after the draft, which is dicey. |
